The only medical advice I gave was if it continues cosnult some one with medical training. The rest of you are telling htem to believe its a ghost. Sigh btw since oyu are obviously ignorant on the matter narcolepsy has four principle symptoms:
1) Hyperpolysomnia: falling asleep at inappropriate times and sleeping more then normal(this is what your erroneously defined as narcolepsy btw its a symptom of the problem not the entire problem)
2) Sleep Paralysis
3) Hypnogogic nad Hypnopoepic hallucinations
You are the only one trying to give medical advice.
4) Cataplexy: loss of muscle tone brought on by emotional states(in other words the person gets happy, sad, etc and goes completely limp)

Of the 4 only cataplexy is unique to narcolepsy and its the only one traditionally considered an indicator of the disease. there are also a host of psychological and physiological problems that can account for what happened. Since you apparently are ignorant of it let me introduce you to two fundamental concepts in critical thinking. The first known as Ockaims razor puts forward that if you have two theories to explain an event with equal evidence to support each and one theory fits entirely with in the established field of science and the other one exists out side of the known laws the former is most often accurate. Or to put it simply the simplest explanation is usually correct.

Now we can explain this experience as paranormal or psychological(I use paranormal becuase ghosts are not the only paranormal explanation just ask the ufo people). Now with out formal testing or attendant paranormal phenomenon either could be true. Yet in absense of any further proof it is far more likely a purely psychological cause is at work here then any thing paranormal. So based on that what is the most reasonable course for the person to take.

This brings in another fundamental aspect of deductive reasoning. When all other possibilities have been eleminated what ever remains must be true. Logicly then this person should seek help from a qualified psychologist and after they have eliminated scientific explanations consider the fantastic.

Does ti really have to be the complex? No after all we can jump to the conclusion its Satan himself comming to incarnate into this world as the antir christ and ship this person off to Rome so that Pope Benedict can deal with them. Sure its exterme but its as valid as half the other nonsense people are telling them.

Okay... everybody... thank you for all of your insight...
Nothing has happened since....
I am totally going with sleep paralysis... I thank all of you that initially thought this way....
I'm not whacked...
I am so happy that I was given the insight on S.P.... never heard of it before.  However, I am somewhat sorry that all of you are arguing about it.

really glad you looked into sp.
scientists believe that everyone will experience sp at least once in their lives. sp can be triggered by stress and it can be an extremely scary thing. i hope you will see your dr and he can help you. original.gif
oh, don't worry about everyone arguing, that's just what happens here.
best of luck to you!

Okay... very creepy!  Went to sleep last night around 11:30 p.m.  Felt something trying to wake me up but saw nothing.  My husband was snoring... I felt something (someone) enter me or lay on me... Every hair on my body stood on end and I could not move, or talk... I opened my eyes yet my bedroom was very blurry.  My body was tingling.  I silently wished this thing to go away.  I was finally able to move my arm as this feeling went away.  While this was going on I could hear the television on... and I could look around my room but like I said it was very blurry.  After the presence left (I literally felt  it go) it stayed in the room for awhile, I could tell it was there, yet I was so scared I rolled over and wished it to go away.

I'm still freaked out today about this.  My husband thinks I was just dreaming!.  I'm afraid to see what will happen tonight.

This is a classic case of "sleep paralysis". People accidentally wake up in the state wich their body has already gone to sleep, and so they experience wierd touchings, vibrating, somebody stroking their body. There is no one around strange around you in the room, no one tries to attack you or something. Its your imagination, you are half dreaming. The sensations on your body are the result of the astral body preparing itself to leave the physical body, and they are very natural.
When you opened your eyes, you had a false awakening. You looked around your room, but your vision was blurry because you were looking with not your physical eyes, but with astral vision. Believe me, your body was safe and sound asleep.
I bet you felt like waves of vibrations floating across your body, and you heard noises, like loud humming, or clicking, or even voices.
Nothing much to worry about..
Ha Ha

[FONT=Arial]I just joined into this website so this is probable old hat but the post interested me. Did anything else happen the next night or was this a one time thing? Do you remember any emotions that you felt beside being a bit freaked out?
