Not really a definition but I think of powerful as something usually umm full of power.

I was watching the news and they have people that are paralyzed or disabled and they got some machine which amplifies brainwaver or thoughts or something? and the people can think of where they want the computer mouse to go on the screen and it and it moves(not the mouse because there is none but the cursor on the screen).
