If you ever wanted to play Dawn of The Dead, this could be your wet dream

Capcom has announced its first title for Xbox 360 - a brand new survival horror game going under the name of Dead Rising.

It follows the adventures of intrepid photo-journalist Frank West. Hunting down a scoop, he winds up wandering round a small suburban town - only to realise it's been overrun by an army of the undead.

Frank decides to take refuge in the local shopping centre, but it turns out the zombies are already wreaking havoc there, too. In his struggle for survival he must use anything he can get his hands on to defeat the evil dead and find out exactly what their problem is.

We're promoised “unprecedented numbers” of enemies descending on Frank in endless waves, and an infinite supply of weapons since he can use whatever he finds in the mall - carrier bags, kitchen knives - to defend himself.

Dead Rising is due out next year

Looks AMAZING. Check out that second picture, talk about a bad place to be.
I heard of this a couple days ago but the review i read said something about 'vanquishing the undead with your imagination' which i took as kinda silly, but now i know they ment 'whatever the hell you want to use, you can'.

Looks sort of like State of Emergency meets Resident Evil, but of course, far far far far cooler due to it being on the 360.

now that is what I'm talking about some real survival horror stuff, wonder if it will be better then outbreak though. I should not get all girly because of the graphics, gameplay wise it got to prove itself!

Better than Outbreak? If you're referring to resident Evil Outbreak, it sucks especially for the RE series, and it's a poor quality PS2 game, so yes it will be better.

Outbreak is crap but its the only one of its kind so far of the zombie survival horror game, you could make a case for ahh zombies are my neighbors, graphics wise dead rising got it, but capcom makes RE outbreak, so how much change can we see gameplay wise, unless if it emulates RE4 then that would be hot.

How is outbreak the only one of it's kind? What About RE1, 2, 3, 0, CV, 4, etc etc etc, all of which are much better than outbreak.

I do knida know what you mean though. I think this game will be excellent.

oh I never viewed the other games like survival horror where you got to fight a whole army of zombies and get out alive, they felt more RPG like because their is a story to follow, but I can see what you mean by the whole RE series it self.
