I love camping, and just wondering who else does and why. or maybe you dont? and if you do it by tent, trailer or motorhome or what? i love being out with nature and enjoying the peacefulness if it. I love roasting hot dogs and marhsmallows. and its best when we are next to a lake! yeah, summer is coming and its time to take out the trailer and hit the road and eat yummy things.

Oh yes I love it with all my heart. The whole aspect of it. The fishing, grilling, star gazing, and trail walking. I enjoy doing the marshmellows too. We always sit around the fire and tell storys. I think it is great. I prefer camping in a tent. I have also done it in a cabin. But I really like pitching the tent and stuff. I usually go down here in FL or Tenn. It is great especially during the summer and Spring Break. grin2.gif

I'm hoping too this year. I've been camping a few times and it's my favourite thing. Out in the wilderness, one with nature.
My parents won a prize in a coffee they bought from Tim Hortons, the canadian coffee chain. It was an entire set of camping gear. I hope to borrow it from them this summer and take the woman out to the woods. grin2.gif

I love camping. My Mother inherited 175 acres on a mountain in the Catskills of NY from her Mother and we go up there sometimes, pitch the tent, drag water from the stream, hike, rock climb, relax. I can't wait to go back!

The only camping I do is draping a sheet over two chairs at the Ritz. original.gif

its great, I have had extensive camping exp. some with Uncle Sam's Misguided Children and more by myself with a big group of friends. Arizona has some of the best sites, I think. Wide variety, high plains, low plains deserts, light trees, lakes, rivers, high mountain, waterfalls etc. all an hour to 1 1/2 hours drive outside of Phoenix, just depends which way you go... N.S.E.W.
Right now is the best time to go too, well, except for Memorial Day weekend. The campsites are full and you must drive further or 4x4 it to et o the better areas, hard to do with the ladies though, some still require closer amenities.... gas stations, toilets etc..
I give a big hoorah for all those who wish to partake in this adventure. (just leave the laptop at home". thumbsup.gif

I will definitly leave the laptop at home when camping. it feels good just to sit there and let your mind go wherever. yeah, the campgrounds are going to be funn memorial day and we'd like to go. sometimes we just go and see where we can get in.lol. we always have found somewhere. I would love to own a small peice of land to go camping on. maybe someday.

Camping in Tennessee is wonderful!!! wub.gif We have a tent large enough to stand in (finally) and it's so quiet and peaceful. We don't go to campgrounds so there are no amenities.

(Scorpio, a five gallon bucket with a toilet seat screwed to the lid and a little water and bleach in it works wonders. That and a tarp pulled around a couple of trees for privacy. thumbsup.gif )

Yeah, I love to camp, too. yes.gif There are several state parks and National forests near my city of Chattanooga (Michelle's stomping grounds, too! original.gif )that are just perfect for capming. I don't like campgrounds too much. I very much prefer back country and hiking to a remote site.
Michelle
tongue.gif Jenn, the Chickamauga/Chattanooga National Park property borders our property. It's a rather steep climb and not very many flat open places to camp but it's a great place! I can tell you a few good places to camp, though, that not too many people have found. thumbsup.gif

We are of again in 10 days time as we have to make the best of the weather, this time we will take the gun and fishing rods to get some food

Yeah! thumbsup.gif That is my idea of camping too. tongue.gif

Actually, my family's ranch is located within walking distance of a National Park, so we can't help but head to the park every chance we get.

Oooh...I loooove camping. We live about an hour away from a State Park, so we go whenever we can.

Most of the time, we get a cabin -- only because we had 3 small kids who get up early, and u can lock the cabin door so they can't get out.
Now, we have a new baby, so we'll see if we go this year.

My hubby prolly won't take me fishing though. He gets jealous because I catch more than he does (I can't help it -- my Grandpa taught me how to fish, and I got his luck, I guess -- LOL!). Last time we were all fishing, I caught 7 fish (well, 6 really, but 1 I caught twice, so...), and neither my hubby nor our best friend got ANY. LOL.

Usually, when we camp, we'll bring the S'Mores, hot dogs, some steaks, eggs and stuff for breakfast, and play guitar and sing and tell stories and play poker until early in the morning. It's great fun.
