Maybe you guys heard this song already and maybe noticed this. But there was several flaws or errors. Chris Martin (lead singer) says in his lyrics on one line that says "Planets movin at the Speed of Light". But planets do not move through space at the speed of light. Correct me If I'm wrong. But if Earth was moving through space on its regular course around the Sun at the Speed Of light then we would only have like 40 or 50 days in a year. Another flaw: he says "And birds go flying at the speed of sound." When of course they dont. The fastest Known bird can fly at over 100 miles an hour when diving from the air for food. Ok just thought I would tell you guys what I noticed. But then again this is only a song. You guys are probably going to say "Dude its only a song, dont worry about the flaws. I'm sure the writer of the song knows some Science. If not then hes stupid and knows very little about Astronomy and Physics."

OH MY GOD they should totally ban that song. I can't believe they would air that, and think it's acceptable for our children to think that birds actually fly at the speed of sound.

It's an absolute disgrace. A disgrace, I tell you!

I seriously laughed SO hard reading this.
Seriously, you ARE joking right? Or are you unaware of poetic exaggerations? Of COURSE they know that birds don't fly at the speed of sound!! rolleyes.gif

I'm gonna leave this open for the comedic value. laugh.gif

No kidding the words of the song are wrong. Who said I believed the words to the song? I know birds dont fly at the speed of sound. And I know planets dont move at the Speed of Light. And the song didnt teach me anything. And whos these kids u talking about? I aint a kid. And I'm smart enough to notice the words of the song are false in the real word. Just dont know why an artist or band would put false statements that aint true in the real world. And I'm here to say to you kids that words to those songs are wrong. Birds dont fly at the Speed of the Sound dont believe that stuff. And yes I dont care about poetic exsaggeration. Little Kids like many on this board will get the wrong impression and get the wrong beliefs.

EDITED FOR LANGUAGE.

Dude, first off, don't use offensive language. I've edited your post.
Secondly, what the hell are you talking about?
Thirdly, if you know that it's not ment to be real, why did you spend ages pointing out that it's scientifically flawed?

I don't see anything of value coming from this topic.
You need to not take things so seriously. It's not a serious song, it's a poetic song. If poems used scientific facts, they would be boring.

Or would you prefer the song to actually sing like 'And birds go flying at a speed of approximately 100 MPH, factoring in the wiiiiind....'
