CAIRO (AFP) - The body of an Egyptian man was overlooked at the morgue and another taken for burial in his place, capping a streak of bad luck that had haunted him in life as in death, police and his family said.

Five hours after holding a funeral here Saturday for Salah el-Dine Mohammed, who had died of internal bleeding, his family found out from relatives of another man they had buried the wrong one.

Mohammed's father, who was old and who had no other children, sent relatives to the morgue to pick up the body for burial but they misidentified it, police and Mohammed's family said.
