R2 ROCKS!!! grin2.gif
Boff
R2 stoll the movie. I was hoping for some more one liners from 3PO though sad.gif.

Yah the sliding scenes did get a little tedious, but thats been done in all of the movies, so its not so bad.

And besides the NOOOOOOOOOOOOOo part, I just loved it!!!!!
BurnSide
You know, they never explained why R2 doesn't have anykind of rocket boasters in episodes 4 5 and 6.. Maybe he did and just didn't feel like using them? I dunno..
Subtemperate
I wasnt sure if it was r2 or Herbie the love bug....lol

_hAiLO_
My gut feeling tells me that Chancellor Palpatine gave the best performance, or the actor...Ian?

Loved it when Yoda used the force push on Sidous, I was like 'Yeah! No one electrifies Yoda and gets away with it!'

I still can't get over the craving to watch the scene where Yoda fought Sidious(w/ duel of the fates grin2.gif )....

I also loved it when Aniken and Obi-Wan used the force push on each other.

What was your favorite scene(s)?

Here is a thread from IMDB.com where people have posted which scenes gave them the goosebumps...and there were a lot of replies. Most of them were when Darth Vader gave his first breath.

You might have to register.
BurnSide
That was an absolutely excellent part of the movie, absolute genius. Ruined, however, by the 'nOOOOOOOOOOOOO' that came shortly after.
Bizeebutt
I agree, that "no" was a one of those uncomfortable moments where you realize they are only actors. When you realize you are watching actors, it takes away from the movie. But on the whole... decent movie original.gif I really felt bad for Darth in the end...

Then Lucas and the cast did their job properly.
seeking
oh i most definetly felt bad for vader as well....so sad how his fate turned...he had everything and lost it all just like that

i also liked how you see the death star being constructed....awesomeness
BurnSide
Funny though how that Death Star takes about 25-30 years from start to finish, and the second death star takes what, 2 years at the most!
seeking
advancements in technology go a long way my friend....either that or the death star from ep3 only takes 2 years to build as well...but lasted the whole 30 something years
seeking
question: when palpatine is telling the story of Darth Plagues the Wise....was darth plagues palpatines master? meaning palpatine was the apprentice who killed him in his sleep? thats what i got out of it...any truth to this?
BurnSide
I'm pretty sure that was what was intended.
RaginCajun
i saw it on 5/29/05 and i wondered why i didnt wait 2 hours in line on opening day jsut to see this film. i never really like star wars but this one got me addicted now. a must see movie. so much lost in movie it makes one to say please stop with the hurting. crying.gif
BurnSide
BTW, did anyone spot the Millenium Falcon?

Yes, the Falcon made a cameo, long before it arrived in the hands of Lando. It was in a panning shot of the Senate Building, docking.
RaginCajun
holy cow, you guys can recognize these minor things? i am missing out on a lot then.
BurnSide
Minor thing!
Minor thing he says!

This is the ship that can do the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs!

Awesome movie. I saw it twice. Everything was just mind-numbingly freakin'ly freakin' bad ass. There were a few parts that just made me go, "Why? Just, why?" like the parts with Anikan and Padme love-talking and when Vader went NOOOO I was like BUAH HAH HAH, but other than that. My jaw dropped like 3 times and I cried twice. The entire opening scene just left me sitting there with my mouth hanging open. Beautiful graphics, awesome saber fights. *Worships*

I love Yoda. He's mine.
BurnSide
"You're so beautiful"

"It's only because i'm so in love"

"No, it's because i'm so in love with you"

..... blink.gif??
Kat_Kloud
Yup, that part. no.gif

Arsenik brought up a great point about that. We all know that Anakin was conceived because of the mediclorians in his mom. But palpy was talking about a Sith Lord that could create mediclorians out of nothing. To make life. Nik's guess is that This Sith Lord, Plagues (or however you spell it.) is Anakin's father. It would help, to some extent, to explain his Dark Side-esque actions. And maybe why he was so susceptible to the corruption of the Dark Side.

That's what I was thinking. Then all the things Ani did were forgiven, at least to me haha. But it looks like his Mom's genes and good child-raising abilities beat the sh** out of the Sith Lord's mediclorians in the end.
Kat_Kloud
Okay so how many of you went home and watched all three of the old ones when you got back from the theatre? *raises hand*
BurnSide
Not me, i watched all 5 before going. grin2.gif
MonkeyMan
I did, And they made MUCH more sense. Then I watched revenge again.
Good Times. grin2.gif

I have the new spec. addition of Return of the Jedi and it has the new young hot Anikan show up as the ghostly thingy at the very end standing next to Obi Wan and Yoda. *teary eyes* Indeed, good times. thumbsup.gif

It shows the young one?? I thought it showed the older anakin?.... anyways....

They can't make any more star wars movies. George Lucas and several others signed an agreement stating the story line has to stay intact no matter what. So if they were to make other movies they would have to be adaptations from the books (Thrawn would be hella awesome though or maybe the Jedi sereis where Kyp uses the force to pull the sun crusher from..... well if you haven't read it I won't ruin it...)

And the clone troopers actually don't stay that long with the empire. They end up rebelling and becoming pirates more or less hiding in an asteroid field.... the storm troopers in the first three movies are all the young men from the Empire controlled HUMAN worlds.... too bad Boba Fett wasn't in this one too.... that would have been neat.... hell... a young Han on Corellia would have been real nice..... considering he's a few years older then Luke and Leia...

anyways... I gotta stop rambling....I am work after all wink2.gif

Subtemperate
WHilst on the topic of the last movie....

Did anyone else ever wonder what was so bad about the pit of sarlac (however that spelt)..... C3PO said that you die slowly and are digested over thousands of years (or a thousand I cant remember lol)....

Wouldnt they die of starvation in about 2 weeks anyhow?
MonkeyMan
Good point. Yet another plot hole.

It's spelt sarlaac btw. Im an ass and proud of it:P

Revenge was too short. They better have good deleted scenes.
seeking
i thought revenge was just a little too long actually it seemed to drag at points
BurnSide
I found Phantom too short, Attack of the Clones WAY WAY WAY to long, and Revenge just right.

And yes, i always wondered myself why they wouldn't starve to death in the pit. Does it feed them nutrients? Wouldn't they die of old age in about 50 anyway? dontgetit.gif
Dando Kast
Does it feed them nutrients?

That's pretty much the premise of it..... the goo in the pit will keep the body alive so it doesn't start to rot..... Boba Fett had a real close call in the pit... the acid almost ate through the mandalarian armour... any that touched him burned him quite badly (good thing for those rocket boosters)...

BurnSide
In what does he get out of it?
Having only seen Jedi, i figured he was a gonner completely since his pack was destroyed.

I can't quite remember the specifics of what happened... just that Boba Fett did survive.... I'll read the story again when I get home (it's in The Tales of Jabbas Palace).... yah know the Twi'lek(Bib Fortuna) that was beside Jabba?.... he actually becomes a "Brain Walker" - The spider type thing you see when Luke first enters the palace... the palace actually has monks that were there before Jabba claimed it for himself.... whenever they die they take out the brain and put it into some sort of weird liquid and then when the walker is built the brain is implemented into it.... kinda gross actually.....
BurnSide
Okay, so it was in 'The Tales of Jabbas Palace'. Gotcha.

Yup yup.... it's an excellant compilation of stories.... especially since you just finished watching Jedi.... it should all be fresh in your mind what they're referring too...
BurnSide
I like that the Star Wars series has so many branches. Even in videogames, like in 'Bounty Hunter' where you play as Jengo right up to Attack of the Clones.
Dando Kast
Me too, I haven't played Bounty Hunter yet.... it does look interesting though..
BurnSide
Bounty Hunter RULES. It's alot of fun, but slightly repetitive.

That's the problem with almost all star wars games..... did you play the Obi Wan Kenobi game? That one was hella fun..
BurnSide
Can't say i have. I didn't play very many. My favourites were replaying battle scenes from the movies themselves, like Battlefront and Rogue Squadron 2.

I hate playing scenes from the movies.... I really have to go buy myself a gamecube so I can play RS 2.....I got so good at the first one I would put it on the hardest difficulty.... put the code in to make even harder then that... and I still flew circles around everything (everything else that was flying of course)... ah... the good ol' days original.gif
LittleIrishVampiress
anyone else read the ROTS book by matthew stover? goes into way more detail. lots of laugh out load moments too that weren't in the movie. after reading the book, the movie seems rushed grin2.gif

if you still don't fully understand what pushed poor annie over the edge, you certainly will after reading the book. i think the book hints that even anakin's mother's death had something to do with Palpatine...i think it was trying to say that Palpatine had been working on turning annie from the start, and so made things happen to ensure annie had alot of suppressed rage, and a fear of death of those close to him. it also elaborates on obi wan's and annie's friendship, with way more emotion...it's painful to read at times crying.gif

it would have been so different if things didn't turn out the way they did. like, maybe if mace wasn't so disdainful towards annie, annie probably wouldn't have distrusted the Council, you see, the Council were supposed to be like a family to him, but he felt more like an outsider, in his own home crying.gif they could have been a little nicer. and, if only obi wan hadn't been sent to kill grevious himself...if annie had gone, it might have cleared his mind, and even if they sent someone else entirely and obi wan stayed with annie, atleast annie would have had obi wan and annie would have been more stable coming up to the time when annie had to tell mace Palpatine was the sith lord.

yes, i know it all had to happen, coz thats the story, but its just so sad... crying.gif

anyway, i highly reccommend the book thumbsup.gif

Ok, just saw this yesterday.

Very over-hyped movie I must say. Don't get me wrong, it was good...just not as good as people have been saying or what the industry has pimped.

Pretty average IMO.
Mr Ed
I find it hard to say that the orginal trilogy was better when you compare the special effects. I know they do not make a film, just commenting.
Katsey
I thought it was an awesome movie.
AliceCoopersGirl
I still have not seen it yet...might have to try this weekend...but everyone I've spoken to so far recons its fantastic
