Okay, this movie has offically been out for 24 hours now. No, i have not yet seen it, but i was wondering about the people who have. Let's hear some reviews!! How was it to hear Darth Vader breathe for the very first time!? laugh.gif
I can't wait to see it, although i don't know when i will. But if i do, the first thing i'll do when i get back is reviewing it. Where are your reviews people!
Shakezulah
Ok, i havent seen it yet, but i know a lot of people at school who have and they said that it was an awsome. i was expecting to go today, but because of the lack of money and having too much homework, i didnt sad.gif i think im going saturday tho. man, i was so jealous of the people who saw it already. im really looking forward to seeing it.
ChrisC098
I just got back from the movie theater and all i can say is WOW. The fight sequences were just draw dropping and the plot was excellent. Although there were a few slow parts this barely drags down the movie. As for darth vader's breath, sping tingling. I'm giving it a 9.8.
BurnSide
Excellent Chris! I'm mad jealous. laugh.gif
jpalz
I watched it too. In a word: SWEET!!

I didn't like the beggining very much, but the story picked up until the end. The lightsaber fights are great (Yoda vs. Palpatine and Anakin vs. Obi-Wan are the best by FAR). SFX are as awesome as Episode 1 and 2.

Great movie overall. I give it a 9/10. thumbsup.gif
_hAiLO_
My brother and my cousin saw it...I'm mad jealous disgust.gif .

I have read the book however, and I can't wait to see it! grin2.gif
greychupa
I saw it yesterday. Its good ! Really, its nice. Better than the first 2, I could sense some of the magic the old ones had ....Nothing but praise from me thumbsup.gif
HolyDevil2053
for all those that have seen it, was it good enough to pay to watch it again? or to just wait and buy on a dvd....

I love star wars and plan on seeing it either way ... but just curious as to the opinions of how good or bad it actually was to prepare myself.
BurnSide
I'm interested, don't give away spoliers, but does the movie explain perfectly the appearance of Vader? The creation of the empire? The reason Obi Wan and Yoda etc went into hiding? The appearance of the Storm Troopers? etc etc.
Yes/no's only.
PadawanOsswe
I saw this film at midnight last night and it ECCEEDED my expectations

for those that havent seen it yet, it is Awsome, and some parts are sad

and for burnsides question YES! it explains it all, it is in my opinion definatly worth seeing again, I give it 11/10 thumbsup.gif
BurnSide
Fantastic, good to hear, i was hoping it would explain everything. grin2.gif

The books have mapped out the saga for us to behold; the last movie did a much better job than the first two.

I will not spoil but I DID cry twice. Its very moving and many questions are answered.

Wow, thirty years, that's older than me. At last, I can bid farewell to the ghosts of Star Wars and perhaps I will sleep easy.

Just remember, when you see the flick, it had to be done to bring everything together.

Yeah, I cried twice.
Janiel
I saw it; along with Hawk, KT, saRa and my mom. It was very, very, very awesome! It tied it all together in ways I can't even begin to describe. Though I found some things laughable, (Like thinking to myself "Dark Side Points Gained!" everytime Anakin went closer to the Dark Side.) I still enjoyed it.

QUOTE(BurnSide)
but does the movie explain perfectly the appearance of Vader?

Yes, though I thought the name Vader was kinda rushed upon him, it did fit it in nicely.
QUOTE(BurnSide)
The creation of the empire?

Yes, brilliantly.
QUOTE(BurnSide)
The reason Obi Wan and Yoda etc went into hiding?

Again, yes, briliantly.
QUOTE
The reason Obi Wan and Yoda etc went into hiding?

Yep, though it wasn't how I thought it would be.
QUOTE(BurnSide)
The appearance of the Storm Troopers?

I figured that out long ago, when I saw Episode II in theaters. It's really easy to figure out if you think about it. tongue.gif
But yeah, they explained it very well.

QUOTE(HolyDevil2053)

If I had the money I would watch every showing until it left theaters. thumbsup.gif

If I had to rate it, 10/10. The only downside, so it seemed, was the acting. In the very beginning it felt kinda cheesy, but then again, all of the Star Wars movies felt like that at first. It's just how they are.

Yes.
BurnSide
hahah of course everyone KNOWS where the storm troopers came from, i was making sure that it was explained nicely. original.gif I know all the questions.

You quoted the 'reason why yoda and obiwan' twice and gave it two different answers jan. laugh.gif!
Walken
I saw it at the first UK showing.

INCREDIBLE special effects, but it didn't have the magic of the origonal trilogy. On the whole, a let down, much like Episode 1 and 2.

Still, It was enjoyable. Just not as 'Star Wars'.
Andy_R
I am a die hard, life long Star Wars fan and I hated episodes 1 and 2.
My expectations for ep 3 were very low.

That being said, I found myself really enjoying it, especially the 2nd half of the film. The ending was amazing. We all knew what was going to happen, but seeing it unfold was spectacular, and it was actually well done.

I went to the midnight showing on Wednesday night.... and it was GREAT!!! WONDERFUL!!!... Everything I expected and more!

It covered I'd say, about everything you would ever have a question about!!!!...

I can't wait for it to come out on DVD so I can watch it again!!

but....

On a sad note sad.gif .... it is like the losing a great friend.... since it is the last one... there are no more exciting midnight showings of Star Wars to look forward to crying.gif ... that just seriously hurts my feelings.... crying.gif

But WOW.. it was great!! thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif
The Roswell Man
I hear peer to peer networks have the movie available for download already... crying.gif crying.gif
Trickster
Yes, I think someone who worked with the movie took it. no.gif

I saw it wednesday night too, and it was awesome!
And I managed not to fall asleep - I was very tired sleepy.gif
Some things could have been better, but the rest of it was sweet!
Mr Ed
I just saw it. It is pretty good, much better than attack of the clones- which was absolute crap compared to the others.
I had one major problem with it:
It managed to retain all of its atmosphere until the end- when darth vader puts his hands in the air and shouts 'noooooooooooooo'
That killed all the remaining atmosphere and I burst out laughing along with most of my friends. It was way too much of a cliche, and a bowed head or drop to the knees would have been much better
It was still a good film though.

I have just returned from the theatre 15 mins ago after seeing it with a good friend of mine!
I have only one thing to say: briliant.
This movie concludes one of the greatest, most influential series of films of the 20th century.

And as for your questions BurnSide - as other said - yep, it does explain it all grin2.gif.
BurnSide
Sweeet.
The Skeptic Eric Raven
The first trilogy was at a time when it dazzled us with specal effects then unseen. Now we see them all the time. It is hard for the new trilogy to compare. We saw it last night. It was for sure the best of the new, but it was not a homerun. It was a little slow. They could have cut about 30mins easy. My kids actually fell asleep in it. I would give it a B-.

While Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith was expected to have a big opening, no one expected it to be this big! George Lucas' third and final prequel in the "Star Wars" saga earned an incredible $50 million from 3,661 theaters on Thursday alone. That's an average of $13,661 per location for just one day.

The $50 million opening, which includes $16.5 million from midnight screenings, blows away the $40.4 million opening day record held previously by Spider-Man 2 from 4,152 theaters, and it also marks the biggest single day ever at the North American box office, beating Shrek 2's $44.8 million from 4,163 theaters.

In comparison, 1999's Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace debuted to $28.5 million in 2,970 theaters and 2002's Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones to $30.1 million in 3,161 locations.

Released by 20th Century Fox, "Revenge of the Sith" was produced for about $113 million.

Does anyone want to see it with me this weekend? laugh.gif
Dis hasn't even seen ANY of the previous ones, so it'll be kinda silly seeing it with her.
crying.gif
girty1600
I'll see it again, Burns, if it's ok with Dis. *begins 47 hour drive* grin2.gif
et's daddy
when i 1st heard he was doing the prequels i thought it was a stupid idea

i love the originals but i knew these would be a bit of a let down as you know obi-wan and yoda cant die for they are in the others

and it was apparent from the 1st that the Senator was the Emperor

i will see this one at some point but im in no rush
i suppose it will be nice to finally see what pushes anikan over the edge

also im not sure why so many people accept the fact that this is the last Star Wars movie

oh, that's right, cause he said so

and no one from Hollywood would change thier minds or openly lie

i wont believe this is the last until he is dead

(even then i may not be so sure) someone may find a way to capitalize on this after his demise

and could many of you honestly say you wouldnt viiew episodes 7, 8 + 9 if they came out after he was gone ? i know id watch them with him or without him
PadawanOsswe
I like the 7,8,and 9 scripts out of all, the Saga must go on, he said if he doesnt make episodes 7,8,9.etc... his kids might

or me cool.gif ...well Ide like to

anhow, I doubt episode 3 will be the last (knock on wood)
moe eubleck
Moe saw this movie last night. It was most wholesome indeed. all of the political hoodity from the previous 2 were not in this. This is strictly an action movie with many lightsaber duels.

Moe did have a few problems. When the emperor battles Mace windu, be prepared for bad acting. Also there's the matter of Palapatines face. It looks very rubbery. Sorta like senator kerry. But Moe will let you see this cheese for yourselves.

Also there are many chessy lines said by The Princess to Anakin. But Moe will let you experience this cheese for yourselves. Just know that Moe was not the only one gagging in theater at these moments.

Also theres the issue of our tragic hero Anakin. he doesnt pull it off all too well. He comes off like a spoiled brat just throwing a fit. This makes Darth Vader look like a sissy. So much for the tragic hero. no.gif

But all in Moe thinks it will jazz any star wars fans.

KICK ASS MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it may be the best star wars yet. thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif

It answers many of the questions we needed to see episodes 4,5,6 with new understanding.

Warning, last 30 min is fairly dark.
__Kratos__
Not a bad movie... though I do have some questions on some parts but I don't want to spoil it for anybody so I will give them a week or so to see it then my questions shall rise. tongue.gif
MonkeyMan
That movie blew me away. Except for that lizard noise. I hated the yoop lizard. But the ending is the best.
mr_halo

yeah i watched this film on dvd last night, ok the copy wasn't the best but hey ho

anyway i enjoyed it much more than phantom menace and attack of the clones...

although there was to much action and not much explaining yes.gif

If you want episodes 7 to 9 to happen, you need to go to the movies so that revenge becomes the box office hit it needs to be(not the it already isn't. tongue.gif )

Come, on what was there to explained? We knew what the end result of the film was gonna be, so all we needed was some action.

don't worry i'm taking my g/f to see it at the cinema yes.gif, but i don't think they should make anymore star wars films, unless they turn the kotor games into movies...

anyone else feel the love stuff between anakin and padme was very awkward?

innocent.gif

Mr Ed
Yeah it is really weird! then again if I was anakin, that's like a boy's biggest dream come true- marry the woman you fancied when you were 10!

What scripts? I hope to hell you don't mean supershadow's
Anyways, he has apparently signed legal documents stating no one can make another Star Wars movie. AND, the whole Star Wars movies were Anakin's Story, so Anakin's story is finished, so, I doubt the saga will go on.
snuffypuffer
I saw Episode III last night and it more than made up for the previous two prequels. It explains everything really well, and even though I knew what was going to happen, I found myself being surprised in a couple scenes.

I am really hoping to see a new trilogy. Thrawn, anyone? grin2.gif
Subtemperate
I did enjoy Episode 3 muchly.

I hope to see it again sometimes soon original.gif

when the originals came out and yes i was old enough to see and remember them, it was said then that there were 9 movies and he already new the entire story

whether or not he wrote the actual scripts i dont know
but if he knew the entire 9 volume story then its not done thumbsup.gif
PadawanOsswe
yeah, I'm talking about Supershadow.com's scripts, those stories NEED to be done. one way or another. yes.gif

burn it answers all of those questions awesomely. it was a great movie! thumbsup.gif

They even show how every member on the council dies. Except for Yaddle. Don't know what happened to her. But yeah, this movie was indeedly great.
MonkeyMan
I love how the empire was created, I liked hoe Vader becam Vader. And RH2097, whats wrong with supershadows stuff? It seems feasible to me, he did have the SW 3 script for over a year and it was all correct, so why not episodes 7 to 9?
BurnSide
I made the missus watch 'A New Hope' tonight.

One episode down, 4 to go, then i'll be able to see epsiode 3. laugh.gif

On the bright side, she LOVED it, of course, so that's my fears gone. *phew!*
_hAiLO_
Was it also worth watching even though there was a big fat guy who constantly farted, sitting right next to you?
BurnSide
...wtf? There was no big farting fat guy next to me.
_hAiLO_
A kid blocking the screen with his lightsaber is almost the same situation...

anyway, I take back my farting dude remark...you almost never see one.

But!!!!

I can't tell you how many times I would sit next to, in front or behind of someone or somepeople who are absolutely more annoying than a big farting dude!!! I hate them, and I feel like throwing popcorn at them...if I ever do buy the overpriced popcorn.
