just thought i'd see what you all thought, you can give examples of what cryptids you think are myths and which are real if you like

I think some would have to be real. Where else would all the stories, etc., come from? Some of these things must be based somewhat on reality.

I believe in quite a few of them. I believe there is a chance that the following could be real/ slive.
Megladon
Nessy
Bigfoot
Giant Anacondas
Thunder birds
And probally a few more that just do not cross mymind at the moment.

I put "some real" but by that I mean the more realistic ones.

For example you get natives in remote spot saying stuff about the old man of the woods and weird spirits. These then turn out to be new species of apes .

I think that in the West because we're used to Holywood and we have a need to conjour up big, dangerous beasts (having killed most of real ones off) we come up with fanciful nonsense which simply do not exist as they (or possible ancestors) have been absent for millions of years from the fossil record.

There again I'm in the majority now so I feel vindicated!
