It is because the majority of foreigners classify Britain and England as the same thing. This gets a lot of people's backs up as you can imagine. It's not nice to be overlooked or be classified as England's lacky

I suppose I am, then again I am a colonial with divided loyalties. Whereas the Brits and most Europeans have about a 1000 of years of culture bred into them that they have the very country in their blood.

Myself, the one half of my ancestory(maternal) lies with the original Dutch Immigrants the other half(paternal) is divided between an Irish/Italian mix. During world cup soccer my support is obviously Italian, World cup rugby my support is obviously the Springboks.

I doubt if my loyalties would ever be put to the test in a "war" situation because it is highly unlikely that the nationalities which make up my cosmopolitan nature would ever be at odds with each other in my life time.

Then again philisophically speaking, I am who I am, it was niether a choice nor a priviledge bestowed, I am the child of my parents and this makes me, me.

It really anoys me when people have to proove their patriotism like have huge flags plasterd all over their house and vehicles. Its creepy. Myself am ashamed to be an American as this country hasnt done much in its history to make me proud.

Well... there are other countries in the world that would be more then happy to accept you as a citizen there.

And Kratos I do not think she is bothered by your comments, going on your recent comments about the starving kids in Africa, your opinion is not important and based on your opinions on poverty, its people such as your self that gives America a bad name. You might not like it, but people have different opinions than your self about American politics, its just strange how on one hand America prides its self on being free, especially freedom of speech, yet say something against it and your considered against America and the enemy…

Something against it.. she clearly said she was ashamed of the history. What is a country without its history to forge it? That there is clearly un-American. So, it isn't like she dissed Bush and I called her a Nazi. Get your head straight.

My head is as clear as water, and people have the right to not be patriotic, its a right, unless your an American.

I do not feel patriotic, and I am ashamed of a lot of British history, and I am not going to be bullied by hypocritical people that say things like "freedom and democracy is great, but only if you think the way I do". I respect the fact that someone might love there country unconditionally, its always going to happen, but I do not appreciate being demonized as being an American hater just because I dislike the workings of a government. I hate these African corrupt county’s politicians, it doesn’t mean I hate Africans, just like I do not hate Americans.

Well... if you live in a country you are ashamed of, you are bound to get some negitive feed back from people that love that country, which is my freedom also. It is freedom to dislike and it is also freedom to hate. I simply made the comment if you dislike it here, your more then welcome to leave. So why should her freedom to be ashamed overrule mine to love the country? You are making NO bloody sense. You step on your own toes and with that said, I am finished here. I cannot stand the "love it or leave it" mentality. This country, Kratos, which you so obviously love, was started by people who questioned and rebelled...whatever their motives were.

The whole "if you talk bad about the US than you should move out" is crap. A truly democratic Republic is supposed to encourage freethinking people who want change.

I am ashamed of this country, for many reasons...including it's history built on deception, money, greed and blood...and for it's current actions...which are obsessed with deception, money, greed and blood. It is the Evil Empire, and as a member of this evil empire it is my right to say so. If you dont like hearing people bad-mouth the country, than maybe YOU should move...since it is our Constitutional right.

Kratos!!! How can a country learn from its mistakes if the leader refuses to comprehend that it makes mistakes, and that its perfect. How can mistakes be learnt from when you have a goverment that thinks you talk about its mistakes or try and expose them then you are demonized, and told you are not welcome there, or you are an enemy?. I kindof disagree with you. I think you have it backwards. America only backs its military during war.... and not even all of america. Being in the military and stationed overseas I see that germany really backs their military and Never says bad things about them.... My father tells me all the time the bad things that are posted in the local papers about american soldiers... Thats alot of nerve for someone who never served for his country to put down his countries military... And the USA never goes above 50% backing the president either......IMO.....
