RE: Constitutional amendment to protect marriage

"So many of my generation, after a long journey, have come home to family and faith and are determined to bring up responsible, moral children. Government is not the source of these values, but government should never undermine them. Because marriage is a sacred institution and the foundation of society, it should not be redefined by activist judges. For the good of families, children and society, I support a constitutional amendment to protect the institution of marriage."

Q: Do you believe homosexuality is a choice?

A: I don't know. I just don't know. I do know that we have a choice to make in America and that is to treat people with tolerance and respect and dignity. It's important that we do that. I also know in a free society people, consenting adults can live the way they want to live. And that's to be honored. Source: Bush @ Third Bush-Kerry debate, in Tempe AZ Oct 13, 2004

It's funny how you're so quick to call Bush an idiot, yet your country elected him. Are you saying evreyone who voted for him is an idiot? Because thats the majority innocent.gif

Either way, Bush is clearly an intelligent man and the rumors about his low IQ are simply rumors. I'd like to see you do a better job.

As much as I would like to think the majority of Americans aren't foolish, I'm just not sure anymore.

I have not heard one single clever thing come out of this mans mouth; every other word with him is either 'freedom' or 'liberty'. As for doing a better job, at this point, I'm pretty sure we could put names in a hat and randomly pick someone better suited for presidency.

Aside from being unintelligent, he seems to be incredibly immature and he would have fallen apart by now if he didn't have people telling him what to do. He isnt a bad man, but he isn't a leader either, and we should not have appointed him as one.

Maybe our country is just ignorant? there are some people out there who don't agree with his decisions and honestly he is rather stupid.... my family is a regular watcher of the series Survivor and once they moved it up because Bush was doing some sort of press conference. He was so incredibly stupid. Maybe he does have a high IQ but he sure doesn't show it or use it. By the way it doesn't mean you're calling someone an idiot for voting for an idiot. It's like saying, "I live in America which is ruled by a complete IDIOT so I guess I must be one too." It doesn't work that way
Mekorig
My opinion, at least. Bush is just a convenient puppet of his father and the group behind (Chenny, etc). In the first election they vote him because the republicans and the neocon had made a very good media campgain, but in the second one, they win bacause the use the few info about the world the general joe in the USa had, and the campgain of fear and paranoia that the neo con fueled after the 9/11. But has i said, its just my opinion.

It's funny how you are unaware of the process that gained GWjr. the office.

GW was not elected into office, he was the first president ever seated by a supreme court decision, i.e. he was selected into office. The glitch in the 2000 election is only the second occurrence in the history of the U.S. electoral process.
His second selection was in the 2004 elections, which true to form, remains in question to this day due to illegal activities on the part of an extremist right wing. (too extensive to go into in this thread). Further, no siting president qualified for re-election (or in this case, re-selection), has ever been ousted during war time.

GWjr. is an idiot! And that isn't something said by those who despise our tiny Texas blood mongering dictator, it's a fact based on his own presence on the record!
It is a valid to believe that Dick Cheney is the actual presidential power leading this countries political future/platform. As his health disqualified him from presenting as a candidate for President, he assumed the VP status so as to be selected into the seat without the contention of his health as an issue.

If you notice during 911, no one knew where DC was because of "national security" concerns. And yet GW's location (Florida), was not only known, but his flight path in Air force 1, at a time when America had just been attacked from the air, was broadcast regularly on National media!
That was damn funny to some of us. Talk about a lapse in National Security! Almost as if the powers that be were saying to the airborne terrorists; Hey you bunch of psychopaths, since your flying planes into targets...

To this day Cheney's appearances and where abouts remain obscured from the public domain. Unlike Gore , during the Clinton years, who attended the usual appearance schedules relegated to U.S. VP's.

*And the poster/reply was correct re; the bumper sticker included in my initial post. Flogging is relative to corporal punishment. However I believe the message it's manufacturer was/is, trying to send is a bit more subtle than the obvious. wink2.gif

P.S. please feel free to move this post to it's appropriate board.

I am really tired of the far left's attempt at demonizing Bush.
"He stole the election in 2000." "illegal activities in 2004 election."

Give it up. He won. You lost.

Extreme Liberalism has gotten so pathetic, it's turned into one big joke.
GoddessWhispers
Illegal activities in the electorial process in a democracy , is no joke!

As for the extremist comment about liberals, i.e. those that refuse to accept the herd mentality of the far right; In order for an election to be lost, it would have had to be run within the context of a legal process.

When Bush was selected all of America lost!

Unless of course you also coddle the U.S. Patriot Act that in effect, under GW's domain, effectively manifest Federalist totalitarianism in America. Don't tell me, you actually swallow the right wing's precepts; "If I have to surrender a few freedoms and rights to feel safe, it's ok!" wacko.gif
Andy_R
blah blah blah, more far left propoganda. This is why I have no respect for liberalism anymore. It IS a joke. They're clinging on to their pathetic delusion that they actually won the election.
GoddessWhispers
no.gif And herd mentality right wing extremists are actually clinging to the notion that their elected administration supports freedom in America!

I'd rather cling to the truth and the proven facts, than live as a slave to partisan politic. wacko.gif

California's Letter of Secession

Dear President Bush:

Congratulations on your victory over all us non-evangelicals. Actually, we're a bit ticked off here in California, so we're leaving you. California will now be its own country. And we're taking all the Blue States with us. In case you are not aware, that includes Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, all of the North East States, and the urban half of Ohio.

We spoke to God, and she agrees that this split will be beneficial to almost everybody, and especially to us in the new country of California. In fact, God is so excited about it, she's going to shift the whole country at 4:30 pm EST this Friday. Therefore, please let everyone know they need to be back in their states by then. God is going to give us the Pacific Ocean and Hollywood. In addi! tion, we're getting San Diego. (Sorry, that's just how it goes.) But God is letting you have the KKK and country music (except the Dixie Chicks).

Just so we're clear, the country of California will be pro-choice, pro-gay marriage, and anti-war. Speaking of war, we're going to need all Blue States citizens back from Iraq. If you need people to fight in Falujah, just ask your evangelical voters. They have tons of kids they're willing to send to their deaths for absolutely no purpose. And they don't care if you don't show pictures of their kids' caskets coming home.

So, you get Texas and all the former slave states, and we get the Governator and stem cell research. (We would love you to take Britney Spears off our hands, though. She IS from the south, right?)

Since we get New York, you'll have to come up with your own late night TV shows because we get MTV, Letterman, the Daily Show, and Conan O'Brien. You get... well, w! hy don't you ask your people at Fox News to come up with something entertaining? (Maybe you should just watch Crossfire. That's a really funny show.)

We wish you all the best in the next four years and we hope, really hope, you find those missing weapons of mass destruction. Seriously. Soon.

Sincerely,
California

Andy R,

You are no doubt a Republican, so therefore you are expected to vote for the Republican running for presidency. Why do this? Wouldn't it make more sense to just vote for the man that is best for the position rather than vote for whom ever is on the same party as you? It would feel to me as a sort of limitation on how I can vote.

It's seems to me that you'd only defend Bush because he is a Republican, if he were a Democrat I'm sure your opinion on him would change in an instant. I can see why some people aren't very fond of the Republican party, that is, if all of them are as biased as you are.
Andy_R
If you are finished putting words in my mouth, I'll tell you how I really feel.
I do not vote for someone just because he is a Republican; I look at the issues and what they support. For example, if a Republican is pro-abortion I will not vote for him, period. I don't care what else he stands for; I can't support that.

I am a conservative and I vote Republican most of the time, but not blindly.

And that's how it is.

let me guess, liberal is a bad word. You know that liberalism does not only aply to politics there are other forms of liberalism You could say some are liberal when it comes to say, cryptozoology. They are willing to believe that there is a chance something is out there even if they have been disbelieving.

LiberalNot limited to or by established, traditional, orthodox, or authoritarian attitudes, views, or dogmas; free from bigotry.
Favoring proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress, and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded.

But since this is in the jokes section, ha ha funny topic.
