This does look a bit fake, and I cannot read Japanese to tell me that I am an idiot if I think this is real. So what do you all think. The eye looks like it was painted on to a record breaking sausage of some type, but I thought I would just throw it out there.
And since I am at it, from the same website
This looks photoshopped, but I thought I would throw this one out there as well; get your opinions and such.
I will try to find the website I got these from and let you all know. They had a variety of news stories there that were real, but some that seemed just too absurd to be true, so it is hard to tell what's what there.

They both look real enough to me...if the squid is true, it's the biggest i've seen around....but I don't see photoshop around to be honest....

I wish I knew what type of squid that's supposed to be. I know that Squid can get very large, especially the deep ocean ones. But I must say, that squid does look a bit dodgy. Could be real, wouldn't surprise me, but could also be fake.
As for the second pic. Looks real enough, but I cant believe that thing can get so large. Maybe I'm wrong, dont know much about them. But that is kinda scary.

Mmmmmmmm! Calamari!
But what do giant squids eat?
We know the giant squid feeds on whales from eye-witness accounts. In October 1966, two lighthouse keepers at Danger Point, South Africa, observed a baby southern right whale under attack from a giant squid. For an hour and a half the monster clung to the whale trying to drown it as the whale's mother watched helplessly. "The little whale could stay down for 10 to 12 minutes, then come up. It would just have enough time to spout - only two or three seconds - and then down again." The squid finally won and the baby whale was never seen again.
Giant Squid have been seen in battle with adult whales too. In 1965, a Soviet whaler watched a battle between a squid and a 40 ton sperm whale. In this case neither were victorious. The strangled whale was found floating in the sea with the squid's tentacles wrapped around the whale's throat. The squid's severed head was found in the whale's stomach.
Squids are thought to be open water, deep, cold sea creatures. Work by Dr. Ole Brix, of the University of Bergen, indicates the blood of squids does not carry oxygen very well at higher temperatures. A squid will actually suffocate in warm water.
How big can a squid get? Estimates based on damaged carcasses range up to one hundred feet.

The picture of the squid does look somewhat fake and after doing a little research, it seems that the horseshoe crab growsup to a length of about 51 cms.

Well, I believe the squid is real. After all, it was caught in the Pacific, where all these big mamas abide and if you look at it closely, it really doesn't look fake.
The krab looks a bit fake, but I've seen so few of em so....
The average shark size is also, say 3 meters, yet we've seen also 7-meter long species, so I suppose a larger crab could also exist....

I backtracked those images and judging by the website I found them on, I am going to go ahead and say that these more than likely are fake. I can't find where I got the exact photos on the site, but I think the domain name might speak for itself. However,
It does have some entertaining crypto hoaxes.Since the squid and crab photo aren't in this section, I guess we can still speculate.

The first image looks fake because of the skin tone and tentacles. It appears as if someone was trying to create a model of architeuthis dux. (Giant squid)
Though there has been sightings and corpses found of squid reaching unusual proportions, leading investigators to believe a live specimen might be discovered; Link (Translated to English from original source)
Per the giant horseshoe crab (aka, "Limulus polyphemus"); hundreds of hc's wash ashore in my area during breeding season. (the males, appx. half the size of females, die after mating). *Link*
Horseshoe Crabs fossils have been discovered, with the contemporary species ancient cousins known as, "Pseudoniscus" . I believe the crab pic. has a better chance of being authentic than what is most probably a rubber model of a giant squid, in the first frame.

If the squid id photoshopped they did a darned good job. You can see the shadowing and the reflection of it on the wet ground.
Same goes with the horshoe crab. Its looks real enough to me.

I think they are both real... however the horse shoe crab may be magnified because of the water. The squid looks iffy I think because the quality of camera used to film it wasn't that great... makes it look a little fuzzy.
Just my thought though.

That is a big fish, and unfortunately, since those stupid people put the stupid fish in a stupid tank for all to see, it died today. Why couldn't they just release it? Jerks.
Anywho, since we are wandering off topic of the squid and horseshoe crab, and onto giant freshwater fish:

The Horseshoe Crab one looks cool but the Squid looks a little fake to me, mostly in the eye... I mean it looks like those googly eyes you can stick on to little puppets and stuff... They just look like flat bits of paper stuck on as oppossed to eyeballs in sockets...

The horseshoe crab one is definatly fake. They don't even get half that size. The squid I'm not sure of though.
