I'd say it's probobly a neat coincidence. There is nothing in the pictures to suggest that there is any correlation. Handbags, buckets, etc. were very common throughout history. It's probobly a money purse, and the gods were protrayed with this "money bag" as a status symbol... Just my 2 cents...

I love the idea of it being a money purse though. That makes a lot of sense in an age before money existed. hehe
still perhaps thats why in most cases his other hand is raised. You just can't see the highwayman off stage left shouting stand and deliver. and the guys speech bubble has fallen off where he's holding his hand up and saying "please don't shoot me i'm an erroneous mystery generated by sci fi writers to credit the beleif that aliens visited our ancestors. This is only a mystery in places like U.M and crystal links where people haven't really studied ancient history so much as skimmed the highlights (eh roswell) from a few of a freakier "aliens were among us websites". eh lucid element
