lol, well the hard drive is your computer, the other thing that isn't the monitor. It may have the ID number on it if you are lucky.

What ID number is it asking for ?

If you can write down what it asks for ill be able to tell you where to get it .

If you right click on the My Computer Icon you should be able to get the "code there.

Also if you bought your PC with XP installed it should be on a sticker under the keyboard or on the Base unit (big box which makes noise)

FYI your harddrive is usually inside your base unit along with mother board and loads of wires and any CD/floppy drives you may have.

Best not touch that area unless you know what your doing

this may seem slilly but... do u have a floppy disk inside your floppy drive?? when u have one inside u cant enter the windows without entering your windows id number or just removing the floppy disk before starting your pc
Irish
Click the start button.
Then right click on my computer.
Then click properties and you will see the number there.
Mr Ed
Open the window. Disconnect your computer, you know the rest...
It will save you a lot of stress and if you are lucky you might hit a chav.
