i was thinking about playing Guild Wars.. is it worth buying it for 50.00??? im trying to find a classic everquest game, and that looks close to it... what is your take on Guild Wars.. those that have played?

its free online play, how can you beat that? besides, i heard its more people with not as much time on their hands as a FFXI or EQ player. still, im gonna buy it!

no man there isnt.. i installed it and de installed it haha.. its not that good.. well i guess after playing 5 years of EQ 1 i just dont wanna learn again ya no... but it does look i guess fun, if you learn to play it again and want to learn alll over again ya no....

Guild Wars IS a good game, just of different values than EQ or Lineage. It is still an MMORPG, but they've removed the free-roam multi-person enviroment that everyone seems to love and hate at the same time. Now, when you enter an outside enviroment with monsters, you will be by yourself unless you start a party, which is limited to 4 people at the beginning. It's a good game, and sure, it's worth buying, but don't expect anything like EQ.

what the highest level will the game let u go to?

20... everyoen gets 20.. also u ca nstart out the highest lvl and just PvP.. its weird.

why only level 20? i like when in other games u can got up to level 100!

lol like i said earlier... i dont think game is that good.. i installed it and unistalled it... but then again i spent 5 years on Everquest, i just dont think im down to learn again everything again.

If you like Diablo and Warcraft then it is likely you will love this. I am getting it tomorrow.

It is a free online multiplayer game, with a special pvp system and an improved pvm system. The possibilities for characters are massive and it looks really cool.

Alsol, every review I have read for it gives it 4/5 or 9/10 etc.

Evidently no-one plays it, but if you have some spare money you have to buy this game. It is the best game I have ever played to date.

Do you have a link? I'll check it out. Someone left the link for ConquerOnline a few days ago and I downloaded that one and have been playing it a little bit the past 3 days or so. Good game, but I'm not far enough into it yet to give any kind of detailed report.

But the game you're talking about sounds interesting. I'd like to check it out.

Cool, it is certainly worth playing Medic.
I am a lowly level 14 at the moment, I think. A pyromancer. I have created a new sport called death races. Someone has probably tried it before though.

I'm really enjoying it at the moment. It's one of the only MMPORPGs I've seen that actually has a cohesive plot. I could maybe do without the level cap being only level 20....but that'll probably change with the expansion packs.

I'm a lv14 Warrior/Mesmer: Seraphina Cershald I've not been playing too long though...I only just got over the Shiverpeak mountains. Done a bit of ppv too...although I find that some of the idiots who play there don't have any idea how to work as a unit.

I do remember one amusing incident though...

Hans Zepher: "Yeah I'm talking to you broad! You're gonna die!"

*Hans Zepher charges Seraphina's team alone, as is pounded into oblivion by the three elementalists on her team. After taking a number of simultanious blows that would have reduced a small castle to something about the size of a suit case, he finally collapses as a smoking pile about a yard short of Sera's feet*

The storyline is pretty damn cool.

Interesting events today...after fighting my way through a legion of undead to get to Lion's Arch, I found myself drawn into a mission to retrieve a magical item that, while being transported back to the city, had been lost among the undead hordes.

So, after rounding up a motly crew of six like minded individuals, I plunged into battle...they all died

So I limped back to town with my only surviving team mate, and the chronicle of the ill fated party continued once more Amassing another force of six, we set out annew...

Three of them died in the first ten minutes

And so myself, an elementalist, and other warrior...against a horde of very skinny, angry, and decomposing enemies. Amazingly, we actually won...fighting back to back in a t-junction, we managed to slaughter the entire army (although we all needed to be raised at least once throughout the fighting).

One gigantic, eivl possessed tree later, and we completed the quest, and got promoted to Knights of the White Mantle. Awesome day Three people....that's got to be some kind of legend in the making.

He he he, Sera, the white mantle are actually evil, you will see as the magic unfolds! I added you on there and did lion's arch a while ago, if you are on and if you like I will do some quests with your party.
Or maybe some death races.

Although if you read the manual, they're painted up as an elitist, and someone zealous religious cult. I can't say I thought too highly of them anyway

That really is starting to head off in a direction that would really be oversimplifying a very simply point

Anyway, monolithical evil is never a good plot device...it's unrealitic. Evil is as likely to fight evil as it is to fight good...why should the Charr let Kryta alone anymore than it would any other kingdom, given their goal is world domination, and the extermination of the human race?

I play it because it has flashing lights and things die.

It's pleasing to know that everyone is not so weird as myself in diving deep beneath the surface of my hack and slash experience

I can't imagine it would stop...after you've done all your quests, your character is probably just left free to wander the world as they see fit. In fact, I imagine I'd want to go back to the start, and see how a lv20 character with killer equipment could do some of the earlier plot quests all on their own

The game is designed so after you have completed it you make a guild and do gvg or pvp with your mates. Some of my friends are gonna buy it soon.

Hmm....bit late...I already formed one. I dispanded it though after I saw how much money it would take to get a cape and a guild hall I'm just going to wait until I'm richer.

Cool to see some others play! I got the game a while back, and haven't had very much time to spend on it. I'm currently working on 2 seperate (and totally different) level 15 characters. One, a warrior monk, another, the elementalist monk. Sense a theme?

yeah, but we don't have a agp slot and my brother is being stupid "no I'm not gonna buy a pci video card" but... my other brother is giving us his old comp, and if that has an agp slot then I'm gonna steal the graphics card from my dad's vaio computer... and give him the crappy card because we he doesn't do high graphics things anyway, yet again if it only has pci slots then were gonna have to get a pci. I talk to much.

Guild wars rocks! I just installed it yesterday and it's awesome. It easily outruns WoW.

Wicked, I have nearly completed it. It gets a boring after a while if your friends take ages to buy it and therefore you have to wait to have 'guild wars' with them.
