Kayakoy
http://www.kayakoy.com/Kayakoy 2

This is the story of Kayakoy, that was a Greek settlement in the Turkish resort of Fethiye until 1923.

It's looking pretty old now, and is a basically a ghost town, because of a deal to repopulate the Greek settlers there between the Greek and Turkish governments in 1923. The Turks that were is Greece stayed there, so the village was never used again.

People still live there, but are local villagers who make use of the tourism to sell local goods, such as textiles, wine, tobacco etc.

The church is amazing, but has been roped off now, as it is becoming unsafe.

Also, when i went there about 8 years ago, the original place was totally untouched. I remember walking past a pit.. i looked in and saw human remains!

Now thats all been bricked off, and the village is planned to be rebuilt,

I have been to Kayakoy about 4 times, and it has a great feeling to it, that is hard to describe.. But there is no mystery.. even though it keeps being suggested there was!

The meaning is that, this is a very interesting settlement, that although is not an ancient mystery, is somewhat in the unknown wilderness.. in the way that it is very recent history, but not too much is known what actually went on there.

I think it's worth a look, as it's very interesting, as old ghost towns go. I'm just sharing something of past civilisations i have experienced.

But Cerberus
if its not Ancient Mysteries & Alternative History then it shouldn't be in this forum
maybe you can invent an alternative history for it then it'll qualify.
isn't there any features that can be ascribed to aliens.
I'm sure Lucid will pick up the thread from there and make it fly/hover
