it all just depends on what i'm being inspired to do, of course.
At least you admit it... writers talk about muses, flash insight and all that all the time, but in the end inspiration is all around you, good and bad. You just have to have whatever it takes for your mind to notice going.
I usually get my inspiration when I'm somewhere really boring, like work. When there's a lot going on, my ability to write or dictate shuts down to make room for taking everything in. This is probably why I couldn't work for a paper,

. But, when I'm somewhere that really sucks and is about as much fun as two flies on the wall, I begin working on where I am on my story or a new series of rants in my head (and dictate them into a portable voice recorder I always have on me ASAP).
On my rants, total a$$es are the best inspiration on earth- when I see some misery freak doing or supporting something wrong with the world simply because they love how many people it hurts that much, they get me thinking about how many levels it's wrong on, as well as a dark, somewhat flip sense of humor about the parts that can be tastefully joked about. But once again, I can't write or dictate unless I'm somewhere boring.
