When i first got into cryptozoology, it was exciting and i thought to myself "most of this stuff has to exist! i just know it!" but, as time went on, it all got boring since almost every cryptid can be explained or theyre just completely ignored since they think the witness is crazy. also, practically every cryptid pic has been explained or called a hoax, one way or another.

please, prove me wrong so i can get some hope back crying.gif

I understand where you are coming from TaintedDoughnuts, I feel your pain. I used to be very interested in cryptozoology, however over the last few years I've seen way too many bad hoaxes and debunked evidence that I'm having a very hard time taking any of it seriously anymore. I had hoped for some time now that some credible evidence would surface and re spark my interest in cryptids, but nothing is surfacing. I just find myself less and less interested in the subject with each passing year.

If it's any consolation, Doughnuts, as was remarked in another thread,

The ocean is a VERY BIG PLACE.

And not only the oceans; there's quite a bit of the land we aren't totally familiar with yet.

If you just think that we've only just begun to scratch the surface of exploring the oceans, and there is, as we already know, a lot of stuff down there that we've never seen before (a lot of it very wierd), well, i wouldn't be too downheartened just yet! wink2.gif

Sadly the hoaxes taint the real picture, I hear what you guys are saying but there is some truth in many of the cryptid, like 747400 said we haven't even scrated the surafce of the oceans or indeed the Jungles and if a group of scientists can find over 350 new spceies in Central park then we know there has to be more... and isn't the excitement in crypto about trying to prove or disprove what is put in front of us? at the end of the day once Nessie or Bigfoot has been proven, that is when it gets boring.

Tainted, you need to get out there yourself.

I know the yowiehunters get out there most weekends, doing their own searching etc.

To find a new area with prints, tree damage and possible vocals/ sightings brings back the excitement.

When you first got into it, there was so many things you didnt know about. You learned it. You read a bit on it, and when you read just about all there was, you got bored.
There are still new sightings and such all over the place, its a matter of getting them found and posted here to bring it all out.
I love Cryptozoology, and even tho im running out of things to read, i still love it. Im always waiting for something new and interesting. A new sighting, or a new picture.

Sure, there hasn't been any huge discovery like proving Bigfoot ot Nessie exists yet..But at the same time nobody has completely disproved them either. There always remains the possibility..
If that thought doesn't give you any hope, then perhaps you could learn to find your fun in discovering and unmasking hoaxes. Every hoax pollutes the evidence pool, so getting them known and recognized is a valuable service to perform..
Orr you could turn to more natural Zoology..
Even if it's not a lost species' of dinosaurs or giant hominids it's a fact that new creatures are discovered almost daily, who knows what they'll find next?

Don't give up, there will always be new and interesting creatures for us to find. They can only get weirder from here as far as I'm concerned. So look up, look down, go to Brazil or something, who knows what you will find. Who knows, you might just stumble upon that Bigfoot you've been looking for.

Don't give up hope! I love crypto! What would the board be without you! I shall take it upon myself to capture bigfoot, or something! o we have a new topic

I used to be interested more into cryptozoology, now i think it's kinda dumb.
Shai_Hulud
Oh cheer up! Seriously, there are new species of animals being found all the time, Albeit it isn't glamorous as Bigfoot or the Yeti,, but still an exciting world. Personally I like the idea of cryptozoology, but it seems more like a field for scoundrels and liars but I enjoy reading their articles nontheless.
Conspiracy
huh.gif thats the point of cryptozoology, to prove thier real or not real
girty1600
That's just how it is though; for every photo that might be genuine there are 1000 that just plain suck! Don't loose faith, my friend, there are cryptids out there and some of them show up here in photo form. Mr. Halo and Canadian Rotwieler used to contribute many of interesting pics for discussion but they seem to be on less and less.

On another note; the best cryptid pics seem to be sea creatures as we are always discovering new species and much of the World's oceans are unexplored. Be patient, young padowan, and the great cryptid hunters will return or others will soon take their place. thumbsup.gif

Only about 5%, is one figure i've seen. they say that we know more about the other planets in the solar system than we do about the oceans. And you can bet there's a lot of stuff down there we've no idea about yet.
FIRE STORM101
i know how u feel too

i use to love watching shows about cryptozoology. but they have ether over milked or over hoaxed the great creatures we lived r real, and the ones we've only hear once or twice about has little or over explained information about them
