Hi, I'm very new to this and not sure if theres a scientific explanation to this but here goes. A few days ago I was standing by the kitchen window having a glass of water when I noticed a small puff of smoke coming from a terracotta plant pot in the garden. I walked over and had a closer look and the plant from the roots up had been burning! The plant itself was intact although by now it was on its side resting on the edge of the pot and the soil/pot were obviously hot to the touch. Incidentently about 3 inches of soil had also disappeared,burnt off or otherwise. Although the day was sunny it was only about 20 centigrade and all the other plants we have in similar pots and location were fine. What happened?

My answer is that something in your soil was combustable. Does not seem paranormal to me.

Ya this has also happened to me, possibly something in the area was magnifing the heat of the sun
