She was the main character in a childrens show call, " where in the world is Carmen Sandiago ( geography based I believe). Also, I think this thread was supposed to be in jokes/puzzles/humor. When you click on the link; it shows "Carmen Sandiago" next to a location so I guess he thought it was funny. I got a snicker out of it. original.gif

Thanks Girty. I found a little more.

From September, 1991 to October, 1996, Rockapella was featured in all 295 episodes of the daily PBS-TV game show, Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?. I wrote the now-classic theme song with David Yazbek, and Rockapella's spirited rendition is featured on the Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego? album (BMG Records) as well as on the TV's Greatest Hits (Tee Vee Tee Records).

The TV show was based on the Carmen Sandiego computer adventure game. Carmen and her globetrotting gang of animated thieves perpetrated heinous heists: they stole the torch from the Statue of Liberty, the clock from Big Ben in London, Lincoln's nose from Mount Rushmore. Teenage contestants boned up on geography and world culture while tracking the cartoon goons with help from a multi-costumed, shamelessly mugging Rockapella. The show garnered several Emmy Awards and the coveted Peabody Award; attracted a devoted viewership of ten million; spawned foreign language versions in Italy and Germany; and made mid-level TV stars of Rockapella. I was particularly fond of "The Chase," a five-second recurring slapstick routine in which Rockapella would run across the screen in a panic, and "The Midgame," in which we would improvise musical puns.
