I read somewhere that one film in the cinema and a message flash up every 5 miliseconds saying drink coke-eat popcorn but couldn't be see by the naked eye. So people would record this film and look out for the message.
Sales went up after people found this
Anyone got a list of Subliminal messages in songs?

I've been searching for all this backmasking but I always end up on the same website, I just need to know of any other songs that I could add to my list.

It has been used by many marketing companies for experimentation, but it never had much effect on sales. If it flashes too fast for the naked eye, you can't read it, therefore it has no way of getting into your subconscious. I think subliminal messaging is a crock, because upon taking psychology you learn that in order for something to implant itself into your brain, it must be filtered first by the original senses: sight, sound, smell, taste, touch (in that order). Therefore in order to implant something into the brain it must go through a series of processes, first starting with the primary senses. Information doesn't just appear in the brain, you'd have to see the advertisement and read it first.
Remember when people believed that listening to audio tapes while they slept would treat an insecurity or help you learn your french overnight? That was the exact same type mistake made in past experiments in subliminal advertising.

Though not subliminal in any factor, billboards, posters, advertising on the side of cabs, busses, walls, floors etc. All are in your face everywhere you look, this obviously leaves an impact on your mind, so is subliminal messaging really necessary???

They ran a test a while back, this is what happened:
They got two cinema screens and two test audiences. On one screen they put in images of ice cream/popcorn/coke etc (I think it was just one or two of these products though). They left the other screen as it was.
When the film ended, the audience that had the images in their film, bought significantly more of the products shown, than the other audience did.
Of course they knew they were in an experiment, but they did not know which screen was which. Subliminal messaging by broadcasters etc is illegal now anyway.

I remember that about twenty years ago some guy had an informercial on the t.v. selling self help tapes and trying to get other people tosell them also. It used to be that the only people who thought this stuff was for real were the religious whackos who were out to stop rock music. As I understand it, it's all been pretty much proven to be B.S. But, even the great me has been known to make mistakes.
