I'm doing this poll because I am going to build my own computer for the first time. I need top-quality information on where to get the parts for this enormous project. Thank you so very much for responding.

Tiger Direct is EXTREMELY reliable, and EXTREMELY inexpensive. You can get parts off them cheaper than anywhere else other than some deals on E-Bay. They have a magazine/catalog they will send you, as well. I don't know where you heard they're a bad company.

Local computer stores are NOT the cheapest 99% of the time. Simply because so few people know a lot about computers, they overcharge. They're kind of like Dell: Mostly bad products for really high prices, or scams. You are wise to build your own computer.

Using Tiger Direct and E-Bay, my uncle built a very fast PC with a nice case for around $800. The same PC from Dell or Sony, for example, would cost atleast $1600.

the computer im using right now was purchased through tigerdirect, got here in 3 days, and that was standard shipping, and like i said i bought my computer through them for less money than if i went directly to the distributor of my computer...tigerdirect is #1 in my book
