Full Version: Worried about abused animal
My next door neighbors have a goat in a cage which is not allowed in this residental area. I fear they are abuseing this goat by not giveing it enough food or water. I would like to turn them in but I am afraid they will do something to me. Have any advice?

You should have a Humane Society/RSPCA etc that you can call. It is anominous.

I think you should just walk over there and say something like, "Hey, you don't want to sell that goat do you? I was thinking about having a BarBQ for the fourth of july....I think I could get him fattened up by then."
Yuck joc, that's probably what they're thinking of doing with the poor goat.

You can make a phonecall to the police. I ones did it, about a family that left their 2 dogs day and night alone in a dark cellar in an abandonned house. The police said, if the dogs have food and water, they cant do anything about it..I was very upset 
This is unanimous... You should report them to the Animal wellfare, they won't know it was you that called them out but if you allow this animal to be traet like this then you are as guilty as the owner... personally I would go around and put his arse in the cage and treat him the way he is treating the Goat.

And if they do this to a defenseless animal who can not ask to be treated better, can you imagine what it would be like if these people have children!? Because if they do, not only would I fear for their safety as well, but I would realize that the parents treating this goat like this examples to those children how an animal should be treated!

I am very depressed and worried about this. I want more than anything else to help this animal but the problem is I live in a rural area with houses very far from each other. These hicks will have a good idea that I called and I have to live beside these people. I hate the world and I hate being in this situation.

Also, if the OP is to be believed, the area where this is happening is not zoned for livestock. He/sh/it could also contact the local health department, or zoning officer and register a complaint.
