First off, Burn I don't think you needed to close my thread it wasn't getting out of hand or even close. Much of learning comes through small little arguments or when people disagree.

It developed the fanbase it did because it appealed to millions of people who found the game fun. I don't see why that is hard to understand.

It's not hard to understand. I jsut wanted to break it down in terms that everyone can understand, hoping that people who do have an interest in video games realize what about the game made it good, so future video games can expand on that and in turn provide us with even better games. Halo did some great things for the gaming industry, but did it do them first? Hmm Yes and No, thats what i'm trying to say. A lot of what peope like about it (skill factor) exists already in different computer games, Halo was able to bring some of that to the console systems.

QUOTE(BurnSide @ Jun 5 2005, 10:49 PM)
Saying people are lying to themselves is the same thing.

Take it however you want it, but I think people will realize I'm not calling them stupid for liking Halo, just asking them to question why they do. Question everything in life.

I posted my reason for closing it, i did not see a need for the topic since there are plenty other Halo topics you could have posted your opinions in. Continue your discussion there, there is no need for a new Halo topic.
And there is especially no need for such a negative topic that basically says people are 'lying to themselves' because they like a specific game.

Repeat topics are strongly ill-advised. Do not post topics simply to reply to things said in closed topics, and if you have a problem with a moderators actions, contact the moderator or the website admin in future.

There is a Halo topic you can post your opinions in here:
