BEIJING -- China has reportedly sentenced a man to two and a half years in prison for digging up a woman's corpse and eating parts of her body.
The official Xinhua News Agency said the man dug up the woman's remains the same day she had been buried.
The news agency said a court ruled the man should be imprisoned instead of hospitalized for mental illness because he was capable of controlling his actions.

He was capable of controlling the action of shoveling dirt, to expose the casket and then open the lid and munch down on the corpse. What faculty do they think he was clearly not in control of, when he thought the entre' "dead woman", was a menu item!?
Can you imagine what he's going to be like when he get's out of prison, having had no mental health assistance?

this man is a genius.....he could have possibly found a way to stop world hunger, the girls parents should be honored to be a part of this.

So if he doesn`t have any mental probems, then he must just want to eat other people`s corpses, sounds perfectly sane to me.
I agree Aztec, since when is digging up and eating a corpse the actions of a sane man? 
at least he ate a dead body and not a live one.. and its not like it was doing anything
Sick! and all they are giving this guy is 2 1/2 years,if or when the guy gets out of prison, he will probably do it again

Cannabalism has many links to eternal life and will always be with us. It is still hugely popular in some parts of the world.
But the ideologys and concepts sorrounding that usually involve killing someone for the purpose of eating them, or indeed eating those that died of natrual causes.
It is puzzeling to see a case in which a man would unearth the grave, however the fact that this happened less than one day after the woman was buried certainly shows evidence of links.
However I would lean towards the man being unstable.

Yup. Just incase you were curious, the tribes that eat people normally do it so that the dead person becomes part of them all, a nice idea. Unfortunately, the person they eat may have been diseased and then the people who eat the body get the disease.
Some tribes kill other tribe members because they think they are evil, they eat them sometimes.

Ed Gein started out this way digging up people and made leather out of them, then he actually went out a kill a lady and did the same thing to her. I say lock him up forever.
