Ok, here's the deal:

I'm trying out my hand on a social commentary book; the book features both comedic and serious commentary about several aspects of society.

In one part, I'm hoping to create a commentary on how the internet affects human behavior through a retrospect on reported incidents. Yes, I did research these incidents thoroughly, and I do know the what's true and what's not in each.

However, there is a problem- I don't know an effective way to get an interview (let alone permission) from the webmasters of the sites that were named specifically. If I ask the wrong way, I'll just come across as accusing them, and I really don't want to do that...

Does anyone here know enough about journalism to know how to handle a situation like this? And how much (if any), I can print for requests that were denied?

PS- I know that the name of the site can't be printed (that's a given!), but what else is omitted material?
