I didn't want to post this in my blog as I keep on forgetting to check it.
I have been having some weird phone calls over the last 3 days where the phone is silent when I first answer it...then something clicks in and yesterday I heard loads of people talking...but today(well about 5 minutes ago) it just went dead after it clicked in.
We have with held numbers barred on our phone(because I was getting funny calls from my ex husband) and the number Im getting now starts with 0141.
This is really worrying me as its nowhere I know.Has anyone got any idea what it could be?
Last night we tried to ring the number back, but as soon as the phone was picked up at the other end,the call was cut off.

I wish I could help but I have had similar problems on my phone. I would think twice about ringing the number back though; you never know what you will get charged. In my case, my neighbor had installed a wireless device for her computer and her conference calls were comming over my phone line.

could it be a cell phone? sometimes mine will do that when I'm in a really congested area, it picks up signals from all over the place and I can even hear 2 or 3 other conversations when I try to make a call or think I'm receiving one.

Contact your phone operator BT or who you are with they will monitor your calls for you for free and trace route them back to a physical number you will find them very helpfull I use them a lot for this type of thing in the UK. The Police would also sort this out as well, if you prefer to contact them?.

Do you have the call-block option? You could have hubby set it up if it's his name on the bill.......

might not be a bad idea to inform the local constabulary....they have resources civilians don't have access to. try to hang in there.

this same thing happened to me and it turned out to be a mobile phone company. they wanted to talk to my husband so when i answered the phone they wouldn't say anything to me. also, as they were calling from scotland and i live in england there was a few second delay when i'd answer the phone and i'd be able to hear all this background noise.
when my husband finally did answer the phone he just listened for a minute and the guy on the other end realised the phone wasn't ringing anymore and HE was the one saying a confused, 'hello?'....heh heh heh.
telemarketing revenge.
hope it's nothing more sinister than that for you!

This is nothing to worry about. These calls come from call centers that can be any where in the world most are in India and such. They are telemarketers. How it works is computers dial the number and when some one picks up the phone the computer tells someone to pick it up and initiate a sales pitch or servey. It is nothing more then bothersome.
Get call display and just don't answer them.
