Full Version: XXX: State of the Union
Well it wouldn't be hard to better the original but it's probably not. I don't want to see it to find out though. They could have atleast got someone better than Ice Cube though... I mean, Samuel L Jackson's character, in the trailer says "we need someone more dangerous than the first XXX" (or something to that effect).. How in the blue hell is Ice Cube more dangerous than Vin Diesel? 
It was different, enough so that one really shouldn't compare the two. The first one was about a largely criminal event that Vin Diesel, as an extreme sportsman(?) would be more believable as. The second one is a largely miliatry situation, that involves a lot of explosions and violence, which the character of Gibbons portrays very well.
Neither are examples of cinematic gold, but each are enjoyable in their own way. Trying to compare the two is a bit like trying to compare two Disney films; the plots are just too different from each other.

I didnt see it yet. I heard it was pretty bad. The reviews were terrible too. Ill wait to rent it when it comes out on DVD.

Don't even waste the time nor the money. It was HORRIBLE! It put the first one to great shame. State of the Union was horribly acted, directed and the story line jumped and jumped right into a puddle of stinking mud!
it just would'nt be the same without mr whoop ass vin diesel in it.
Can't really say the first one was all that artistic magic.

I thought the first one was ok. Nothing special. And I wasnt expecting anything more from the 2nd one, which is actually less, apparently. And it also sounds like theyre gonna make more XXX movies.
Why they all suck have stupid storyline horrible characters and are just built around stunts you see in the trailer.
