Here's what happened at Bleury-Bouthillier's manor located in Rosemère, Québec, Canada. Long post but please, read, I need serious insight.
BACKGROUND
Near where I live there's a huge manor built at the beginning of the century by Mr. Bleury, a very rich man that wanted a big europeen style castle like his family up there. During his living with his wife, he cheated her numerous times. One day, she found out and couldn't take it. She then burned the house down while her husband was in there. She was in there as well and she either commited suicide before the flame reatch her of simply waited the inevitable.
Since then, part of the manor is abandonned/condemmned. A big part is still used for receptions and such but the part where the couple lived is rather scary, weird and has never been used since. They re-builted the "skeleton" (like all the 2X4s, stairs etc. with only a couple walls) and the saved furniture (old style furniture) is chaotically spread throught the manor). Nobody for some reason want this part of the manor and the employees that work in the still functionnal place refuse to go near the old part.
INSIDE THE MANOR
The only way for us to get in is to go on the side, pull a wood sheet off the wall to reveal a secret passage that leads directly to the basement (cold basement built with stones and bricks). So, I went there many times suspecting the place is haunted considering I've heard many people relate to weird phenomenons they saw/experienced there. I wasen't very scared as I am not very sensitive to this stuff (although I'm a strong beleiver) but the more I would go there (went many times) each time I'd be less and less confortable. At some point, I was even scared although I was with some people. You just feel as if you're constantly beeing watched there and it's not very fun when it happens in underground passageways (small stone corridors in the basement) with only lighters to light the place.
Also, nobody EVER wanted to go in there alone wether they are beleivers or not. Everyone always had some excuse not to go alone. We even offered 50$ to the one who would go in alone by the basement's passage and go up to the second story window in the same window where the woman have been said to appear sometimes at night especially on full moon days.
EXPERIENCES
Once, I went there with my cousin and a friend. Now, we are all kinda beleivers but my cousin and friend just didn't think about it at the moment as we had fun going throught this "maze". We visited the whole part (very cool place with lots of passageways) and then came to the last place we haden't seen, the second attic tower (you know those kind of victorian towers). The stairs led up there but it was dark. It was the only place in the whole complex that was made of dark (almost black) wood. For the first time in all our visits, we stopped and nobody wanted to go first. To this day we can't explain this sudden fear. Yes it was dark in there but considering we went there at night (100% complete darkness) with torches and weren't as scared as when we were facing the stairs in daylight, it couldn't have been this. My friend finally decided to go after strong pressure of ours and we followed. Nobody was there of course but an eerie feeling.
Once, I went there with some stupid girls (that were like "ohh let's go to the haunted house" in a sacarstic tone) and promptly did. Once in, we walked a little and girls were joking when suddently one started to yell "who pulled my hair" but in a very drastic tone. We thought she was kidding (they were kinda dumb) but she began to be very panicked and freaked out (you can't fake this). I then felt we shouldn't be there and convinced my friends to let go and go away (pretending the police would come although I only felt as if we weren't welcomed at all).
On the property, there a big quay with marshes under them. A little kid drowned there a couple years ago also. Last time I went, we walked and I saw something weird. A small but very bright pure-white light appeared in mid air, zig-zaged a little bit and disseapeared. Now don't get me wrong, I know what fireflies and other bright insects look like and it wasen't. It was very very very bright (almost illuminating the air around it), like between a golf and tennis ball in size, pure-white and completely silent. The way we were all standing, I was the only one who saw it and it deffinatly wasen't an hallucination.
WHAT WAS IT?
I have (well, had) a sensitive friend (a girl) and once, I came there with her. As we went closer to the manor she immediatly said "don't tell me, this is the haunted place you talk about" (pointing the abandonned part even though we couldn't discern from distance). I said yes. She never wanted to leave the car, she felt way too much evil and suffering there (probably lots of residual energies) although we went there to go in. I told her about the ball of light and she said she occasionally see them as well in her house. She says they simply are orbs but that bright? I wonder...
What's your thoughts? I've heard many many stories about the place as well from friends of friends so I am not alone to fear the place. I would gladly go there again with my digital cam (photo) but the staff there (still living part) prevent us to go for safety reasons (sucks but I understand theire point). If I ever have a chance to go, I'll take as many pictures I can of the place and it's surrounding. Who knows, maby something will show up...
LEGENDS ABOUT THE PLACE
Things I've heard so far from supposedly sensitive people are:
1- Boys and men can freely go in there without any risk.
2- Girls that go there are exposed to risks.
3- One shouldn't start to mess with the furniture.
4- Sometimes the shadow of a walking person can be seen on the quays.
The explaination I've heard for such things to happen is:
The lady mainly haunts the place. She hates girls for obvious reasons but like boys (for also obvious reasons). Sort of a personnal revenge that would explain point 1 and 2. Also, apparently the lady hates who ever mess with her things explaining point 3. The point 4 can either be the lady, her husband or most likely the drown kid.
The cheating husband is also said to haunt the place but apparently, not as much as her wife. Maby she finally beated him in the other world, who knows...
These are only speculations but in all, I find them pretty accurate considering all what happened to me and others there that I'm sure of.
Thanks for reading. This deffinatly has to be investigated. Once I start my amateur ghost haunting club, we are going to do whatever we can to go back there.
