Sorry MM I haven't heard anything about these photo's, there not that far from where I live either.Good pics though, thanx! 
Well it never made the news over here either Magik 
If I was going to take a guess at what it is though . I would probably say it was a ball or something being used by the TAFE group in there training exercise . The couple that took the photo said that they watched the TAFE group over the course of an hour . I bet they looked away once or twice in that hour . They could easilly have been distracted enough not to notice it when they took the photo originnally .
