Last November on thanksgiving night. Me and my family were driving home from our grandmas house when above the hills we saw this very strange object. It was like a fireball with a black center. It had a trail of smoke behind it as well. it fell for about 500 feet and then im guessing it hit the ground(it went behind a hill). I'd say it was round and about the size of a big screen t.v. but I could be wrong considering we were about 100 yards away and we were moving. This might have very well ben a comet or something but I dont see how something this big would have not made any sort of noticable sound or impact. Anyways I would have started this topic earlier but I didn't know how to. (I am stupid) Any ideas on what this was? Id appreciate opinions.

Well, it definitly wasn't a comet as that's a celestial body that everyone would have noticed..It could well have been a meteorite. It doesn't have to make a big sound if it hit's loosely packed earth or doesn't break any trees with it's fall..
There may well have been an impact crater though..Did you go back and check?

it could have been a meteor or tektite and was probably farther away than it appeared. It might not even have made it to the ground, either burning up completely or skipping the atmosphere back into space.
Or it could have been a satellite re-entry.
Or maybe it was an alien spacecraft...
...well, you never know!

Well im certain it wasn't a satellite cuz it was round, and there were hills that are behind the hill it went behind and i could see it was in front of those so it wasn't that far away. But there are no trees where it would have landed and the ground is very soft so it probably was a meteorite. I'm just a kid so I couldn't drive back down there to investigate to see if there was a crater.

If the atmosphere was charged it may have been ball lightning.

It’s a large possibility you may have been in interaction with a U.F.O., I can’t completely answer that though, just an image that’ll always puzzle your mind…

Almost certainly a meteorite i'd say, would've been pretty cool if you'd been able to track down where it came down, though as mercuryrapids says it may well have been miles away from where you thought it was.
if it had been a comet I reckon we'd have heard more about it ... one of those babies would have made a bit of a splash if it had come down somehere!

Yea, were they’re any news reporting about a meteorite in your area after you sighting?

I saw some kind of fireball which appeared to come from the moon when I was a kid playing night games.

Yeah, mine was like that too. You could actually see fire. I don't think it was an aircraft of any kind though. Since when do spaceships look like fireballs?

When they're entering the atmosphere.

Pogo I didn't notice where you lived before but now that I know I'm really freaked out. I actually saw this thing in the skies East of gunnison U.T. (I live in sanpete) Do you know where gunnison is? Where did you see this thing you saw when you were a child playing night games?

I'm not very good with my Utah geography, but I live in a town called Orangeville. It's about 45 minutes south of Price.
