But seriously, i can see the points some people have made that it should be clearer in its aims - if the point of it is to guide us in how to live our lives, maybe it ought to be a bit clearer about that? There's the commandments obviously, they're clear enough, (although some of those perhaps could do with a bit of updating), but much of can be a bit allegorical and difficult to make out what it's trying to say. I'm not saying I beleive it all as the gospel truth, as it were, but I do think it serves a valuable purpose in providing moral guidance.
Although the mysteriousness of it is part of its appeal, i think; just taken as a set of stories there are some very good writers there.
Revelations is brilliant - it'd make a great movie!
