Love it, and there is a high probability that it is still alive in pockets of the outback.

eveningsky339
It's a tie between Mothman and The Jersey Devil.
~TheBigK~
Mothman hands down. Bigfoot is a close second.
343 Guilty Spark
My favorite would have to be the Chupacabra. Is it an alien or a goverment conspiracy nobody knows. ph34r.gif
eveningsky339
...How could it be a govt conspiracy? Why would the government want to make up something like that?
TheReizenderUnsegen

Yes! There are sightings in Australia, where the thylacine was thought to have been extinct for thousands of years. The Thylacine was said to have once originated in Australia but had died out due to competition for food with other predators and the only ones left to survive were the ones in Tasmania, where the last one was recorded to have died in.. '36?

Anything having to do with shape-shifters, particularly wolves...Beast of Gevaudan, the Germany werewolf who made an appearance after the extinguishing of the 'eternal flame'...don't really think movie-werewolves exist, but it's fun to read about original.gif

Close second is Mongolian Death Worm, followed by cave cryptids (such as the Devil's Hole cryptid)
charnelhound
anytype of wolves, Beast of Gevaudan, mothman, drop bears. i like alot of cryptids, wolves are just fuzzy! tongue.gif

snuffypuffer
Spring-Heeled Jack and the Mad Gasser of Mattoon, although they aren't really cryptids, they are my favorite paranormal type legends.

Bigfoot, skunk ape, Yeti etc.
Pogo
Bigfoot. I went to the mountains a lot as a kid and to this day, reading about new reports of it or watching the patterson footage sends chills up my spine.
Sethman
Have to go with goatman just something messed up with it and the mad gasser he is messed up to.
raistlin_majere
Chupacabra easily. Anybody have limewire? if you do you can download an episode of Scare Tactics when a guy gets dressed up and scares the hell out of another guy...pretty amusing...
But I also find alot of other cryptids intresting...such as the mongolian death worm, bigfoot, nessie, champ, Mokele-mbembe, jersey devil, vampires, werewolves like the beast of bray road (seriously amazing!) ,giant squids, bunyip...blah blah the list could go on.
Rhomphaia
I would have to say that overall my favorite cryptid is bigfoot, though the jersey devil and werewolves come in tied for second.
My favorite bigfoot story is the one related by Roosevelt in his book (I forget the name) of a trapper whos partner is killed by a bigfoot. The whole story just kind of sends chills up your spine, like that particular specimen was hunting them or something.
Bio-Mage
My favourite subject is Sylphs. Something terribly exotic about them....
Sethman
Trunko, mongalian death worm,Chupacabra, and Goatman all have cool stories to go with them.

Chuppies, mothman, bigfoot, etc are just fads that come and go. The most enduring cryptid of all time, and the one imbedded in the collectivce human psyche forever, is the dragon of course. And it is probable that virtually every other reptiloid/sea serpent/lake monster/dinosaur/thunderbird etc. type cryptid is the dragon as well -- the grandaddy cryptid of them all, firmly believed in by mankind, all over the world, since man was "man" and could begin to record his thoughts and fears.
