Okay, I'm not sure exactly which forum this belongs in (don't you love it when posts start like this happy.gif ). Early Friday morning I had a dream that came out of left field. I dreamed that I was on a ghost investigation (never been, don't plan to) at a family's house. The family was there, but I only remember the daughter who was about 5, and the father. The dream started as my team was breaking down equipment. I remember thinking that a couple of minor things had happened while we were there, but nothing alarming at all. For some reason, the daughter wanted me to tuck her in bed. Her room was at the end of a hallway and just before it on the right was the bathroom. So I start to tuck her in and her father comes in. I told him to finish tucking her in and I was going to take a shower (I told you it was weird). So, while he's tending to her, I take my stuff and go in the bathroom. I dropped something on the floor, bent to pick it up (while noticing a very nice bathmat at my feet tongue.gif ), and something grabbed my right shoulder. Hard-it was extremely painful. Then, I was yanked off my feet and choked. I was hanging in midair in front of the tub facing the mirror over the sink. When I looked, there was no one behind me, I was just hanging there. It felt like I was in a headlock with my windpipe being crushed. I tried to scream but my airway was completely closed. I kept saying, "Help, help", but it was just a very small whisper. I finally got a little sound out, and the father peeked around the corner into the bathroom, and I woke up.
I looked at my clock and it was a little after 5 am. My husband was already gone for work, so I turn on the bedside lamp, drink some water and walk around a bit to clear my head. In the couple of moments after I'd woke up, I still felt strangled and had some pain in my right shoulder, but these symptoms were now gone. I went back to bed after calming down, and thought about the dream. Suddenly, I thought about my boss (no, he's not that bad to make me have nightmares). I asked him when I went to work that day if he'd woken up around 5 am not breathing. He nearly fell out of his chair and asked me how I knew that. I don't know what led me to this conclusion from this weird dream, but that's the impression I got. Apparently, he's just found out he's got sleep apnea. He said he woke up @ 5 that morning strangling. It scared him so bad he went ahead and got up. I told him I have enough nightmares without him influencing them. It's probably just another scary dream, but thought I'd share.

That's one strange dream/nightmare and you said your boss had the same thing happen?!

Maybe your husband was touching you, like rubbing your shoulder and kissing your neck but you felt it a bit harder and it had changed to you getting strangled. Maybe you should ask your husband if he had been kissing your neck and rubbing your shoulder.

Just a thought!

Wow, that's pretty freaky. Makes you wonder doesn't it? huh.gif

I dreamed of being choked at the same time my boss was experiencing choking by sleep apnea. Also, like I said my husband was already gone. He leaves the house @ 4 am to go to work. I was wishing he was there. original.gif

blink.gif Wow that is really freeky. Did you ask your boss if he had a similar dream with the ghost investigators and all that?

Maybe you were acually being lifted off the ground like in your dream. Too bad your husband wasn't there at the time.
Nadia Blue
I told him about the dream itself, and no, he didn't mention that. He was still trying to get over the fact that I knew what time he woke up choking. thumbsup.gif

Hmmm, I certainly hope not. I didn't fall back on my bed when I woke up. You're kidding me, right?
mystery-man
Well I guess I was wrong. If it wasn't your husband must've been something else, and that thing with your boss and having the same dream, they're must be a strong bond with you two
Nadia Blue
Yeah, he's like my best friend. It's funny I posted this today and not Friday because he just reminded me of something a few months back. I hate to say I've scared the bejesus out of him now. A few months ago, I had a dream that he died. I was so upset I woke up crying. We're a satellite office of a company out of NY. There's only 3 people here. I asked him the next day what would happen to the office if he died. He asked me why I'd ask that and I said something about a conversation we'd had about preparing for death (his mom died Christmas before last and it left him with a lot to do. He's still dealing with it). I didn't want to tell him I'd had a dream. So now, he's bringing that up again and asking me if I had a dream. He just found out recently that Reggie White died from sleep apnea and also Florence Joyner (track stars?). I told him not to worry about it. It was just a coincidence.
mystery-man
Maybe you shouldn't mention it to him anymore, keep him happy.
Nadia Blue
Yeah, I think you're right. He just went to his car to take a nap. It was really hard for me not to tell him to make sure to wake up! I'm bad like that. grin2.gif I didn't want to ask him about it, but curiosity was killing me. I know what my grandma would say about that.
Xoisk el Soñador
that's weird, you'll get used to the forums the more you use them...
Melladior
Yeah...all I can say is please don't EVER have dreams about me ph34r.gif

Hey, I can't necessarily blame the forums. Since I saw the original "Night of the Living Dead" when I was little, I've always found ways to scare myself. Lately, it's ghost pics (real or not, they're still fun to look at) and ghost shows on the travel network. Also, scary movie rentals late at night. blush.gif One could say, I ask for it.

That is freaky. You do have a strong bond with your boss.

A boss is an authoritative figure, may I add, just like a father. You saw yourself in the mirror in the bathroom, a room so unlike the innocent room of a five-year-old child, while feeling you were being chocked. You shouldn’t feel guilty so painfully, we’re all human.

Time passes differently in a dream so, it's possible. xD

First of all, you're right. I should've described our relationship as him being more of a father-figure. He's a long-time happily married preacher, just the person I'd want to confide in. We have many interesting conversations around the office. original.gif

Second, what did you mean about the rest of your post?
Nadia Blue
BTW, guys, Ann did respond to me in private. Let me just say this:

There's nothing, ummm, say, sexual? between my boss and myself. Let's just get that out of the way, shall we? And no, Ann, I didn't take offense. thumbsup.gif If someone else had posted this, I wouldv'e concluded something along the lines of what you did.

Thanx for your response, guys and gals.
