What kind of threat do you think the E.T have if they visit us in numbers and make themselves known? I would be terrified!

I would say that would be a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10.

Even if they weren't hostile, there would still be one problem: humans. We would panic the second we saw them. Even if there were people who understood that they weren't a threat, there would be gung ho gun wielding people ready to defend us and wouldn't pay attention to if they were peaceful or not. Different religions, different cultures would have their beliefs on what to do, and would cause a lot of conflict. Also if we didn't end up killing them, what after that? Would we learn to co-exist? There would be so many problems and so many things to deal with. It would be a long process for it to turn out nicely.

I seriously doubt we would learn to co-exsit, we can't even co-exost with each other without raging wars with each other, a alien race? are you kidding me? Oh HELLS NO! But however i think if aliens do come i think they will be the reason we'd unite as one race. Humans like to be part of groups( in groups and out groups), its human nature, now we group ourselves in terms of countries, when the aliens come we'll group or self as earth(the in group) and them as the another group(out group)

I think one good look from a real alien on our world and they would turn tail (assuming they have those) and run....at warp 10

As they would have to be intelligent creatures, I don't think they would travel millions of light years just to have a fight, they would see that we are no threat to them and observe us, see what make us tick, that sort of thing.

It could be the other way around as well. What if when we step foot on another planet, it turns out to be inhabited. What kind of threat would we pose to them, especially if WE were the ones with higher intelligence.
Assuming it were inhabitable by our species, I think we would promptly take over the planet.

I think if we discovered a planet with a developing sentient race, like humans, then we should build loads of pyarmids and monoliths. That way, when they age by about 2000 years or so, there will be a load of conspiracy theories.
Or maybe that has been done on Earth! Ask one of the theorists in the ancient civilisation forum for more information on how we didn't build any of the ancient wonders.
I think if aliens bothered coming here, assuming they are capable of it, they wouldn't raze everything to the ground in a bloody massacre asd what are the chances of an intelligent alien race existing as well as them being crazy.

i kinda have to agree with alfaman here. Why would aliens travel all this way to subjugate us and take our resources when they probably pass hundreds of planets with the right resources. Why would they try and conquer us anyway? What do we have that they need to take by force that they can't get elsewhere for less hassle?

I wouldn't do a damn thing.
Unless they started invading my town. I may be forced to pick up a gun and defend myself. But I'm pretty sure they would have a good reason to do that. They're not like us warmongers.

Dear god, those would have to be some very stupid aliens. So we might as well just ravage their planet and rape their women.
Just my 2 cents.
