hi this is my first post and the topic concerning the main reason i joined this site.
i live in norfolk, UK which is a very rural area, around 2 weeks ago a friend and i were out fishing at swafield in the early hours of the morning. There are many access routes to get to the pond but it is surrounded by woods and a strawberry field. When we heared some movement in the bushes we first assumed that it would be water rats and dint think much of it, except that it was disturbing our chances of catching fish. My friend decided to throw a stone in the direction of the noise and the rustling stopped for a very short period and then restarted, so once again he decided to throw a stone. This time something ran out of the bushes and it was deffinately not a water rat, my friend says he thinks it looks like a human and gave the excuse that they were probably drunk, yet i do not agree. It was fairly dark but from what i saw it had large shoulders (compared to what we could see of the rest of the body) the head was almost sunk into them, like it had no neck. As it was dark and the "thing" was in the bushes surrounding the fishing pond we could not see if it was running on all fours or 2 legged.
i am just writing to ask what people think and if there has been any sightings of similer anywhere else that would explain this.
many thanks
harry

I can explain this via a list of endless possibilites. This list I am currently listing is not an endless list, but instead a list that encompases several explanations in the format of a list.
1) Alcohol
2) Delusions (see doctor)
3) Drugs (I am not talking about eye drops here)
4) A blatant lie
5) It was an animal
6) It was a legendary beast...

It could of been an alien big cat. As in a panther there are sightings all over britain.

A few years ago, my dad saw a big cat near his house in Scarborough, N. Yorkshire. It was walking across a small bridge over a stream near his house and he said he crapped himself...lol.

Maybe you startled it or it was intimidated by there being you and your friend there.

would it be wise to return to the place at a similer time to see if we can get a photo of it, or would it be highly unlikely that it would settle in a certain area?

I suppose if it was a big cat the pond could be its "watering hole". But i'd be careful, don't go by yourself and tell someone who isn't going when you'll be back and why your out.
Just to be on the safe side.

Am I the only person that takes a camera with them when they go fishing to take pictures of the fish I catch? Am I the only person that takes a camera with them when they walk in the woods in case I see a bird that I am not familiar with to look up at a later date?
I don't bring them to actively look for a cryptid; in fact I don't think it has every crossed my mind to do so for that reason, but it astounds me how there are never any photos when people take trips where a camera would normally come in handy anyways, with a cryptid photo being a much added bonus.

its not the best fishing spot so we would never expect to get an amasing catch so we never take a camera

Harry don't use cancer in the same sentence as the word funny... I personally will take offence to it, having just lost my Mum and father in-law to cancer and I am sure others would too.
You should exspect to get critism if you take part in discussions... it is not a personal attack at you if someone questions your post or comments but If you start a debate expect to defend your post in a professional manner.

Thought you where talking to me, I was like "WTF? I didn't even post in this one." Person should get his name changed to Harold. Cause I am the harry.
On the sighting, maybe it was a hobo, an ape, a kid, a werewolf, or in any chance, a disgruntled french midgit who likes to stab birds with tiny lil origomy and rice.

Yes it happens but it is the way the health service deal with the disease and not necessecerally the cure that is effective to combat it.. however I think we should stay on topic.

The only description we have is no neck and wide shoulders, did you see anything else.
What size roughly was it? Compared to a dog, small medium or large?
Did it have fur or did it look like skin? Colouring light/ dark?
Did you notice any strange smells or sounds coming from whatever it was?

oh dear........
"about as funny as cancer"
this means cancer is not funny, i have had people in my family die from cancer, im shocked at the way you reacted to this, however i apologise for any offence caused
as for the sighting, i would shoulders were slightly taller than what a fully grown dogs would be, maybe about 5 inches, the texture im not too sure about as it was quite dark and happened quite fast.

Try going back in the day and check around for foot prints.
Being a damp area there should be prints on the ground, that will be a good starting point for determining the size and what type of animal it was.

now see you may not have been drunk.... but i beleive i said thi as another explaination for a sighting.... but your freind said it looked human... and you say it may have been on 2 feet... well...just humor me but...if a guy was to get drunk and be running around in the woods in a large furry costume that would be human like... and well look animalish....
or maybe it was...some mutant man who lives near that river or pond or what ever.... like his mother abandoned him in the woods as a kid and he grew up... with abnormally large sholders and no neck... like lets say.. maybe he has an abnormally short spine... so it may look like he has no neck...
