I am looking for all available information on the chupacabra that is possible. A few years ago I printed out a picture off the internet of an alleged chupacabra that a farmer had accidently caught in a coyote trap. I had forgotten all about it until I read an article a few minutes ago, saying that the picture and the farmer's story had been taken off of the internet. Supposively the animal was taken away for testing, but no one is sure. I have lost my copy of the picture, due to several relocations, and I would like to know if anyone may have a copy of it. It was supposed to be a hoax; but at the time that I printed it out I loved "investigating" things like that. Even though the picture more than likely isn't real, I would love another copy of it. Rumour has it in the chupa circle that all copies of the picture floating around on the internet were taken off, permanently. I don't believe this is possible, soooo. . . The disappearance of the photo and the farmer's story has peaked my interest. Why would something like that have been removed? If it was a hoax, it was one of many, so why did attention go to that one. Maybe I have been misinformed, maybe it's NOT true that the photo was removed. I really want to know. My own searches have turned up nothing. I remember the photo very well, and I remember the caption said that it was supposively a clever taxidermist trick, or something along those lines. I'm also collecting stories about the chupacabra. Most of my family lives in San Antonio, and right along the Texas-Mexico border, so I'm planning a trip so I can go "investigate". Any information regarding Chupa sightings in or around the San Antonio area, Knippa, Cotulla, New Braunsfels, Laredo, and so on; please email me, as these are the places I will most likely visit. is this even a real case, ive heard so much about it.. is it a hoax or not.. im sure there is no way to find out, its just interesting, because its like it came out of no where.. how long has this been going on for? or when did it start to blow up rather into the media and unexplained world?

That's the problem I have. I have no idea if it's a real case or not. But if it is and the rumours are true, WHY did they take it off the internet? Why would that happen unless there was something else to it. There are so many hoaxes out there, why would anyone care about the one. If it's not true, then, still, why was it taken off? By the way, I think this story started circulating around three or four years ago. I think it was in the San Antonio paper and/or on the news first. I got the picture and the story off of one of the News sites, I can't remember exactly, because, like I said, it was about three or four years ago (maybe more maybe less, I can't remember that for sure, either). I figured someone else might have been obsessed with that kind of stuff like I was and maybe they, too, printed out the picture and everything. I really want it. I would like to try and find the original story that was either put in the paper, or put on TV.

I emailed the news channel. They said the corpse was identified as a dried up Sea-Kite. I tried to search for a sea-kite, but I didn't get any results. Is it like a sting-ray, or something? Who knows, I'm starting to seriously believe my search engine sucks.

I tried to search under ask jeeves, but I still couldn't find anything. I had the same trouble when my mom searched for "Crusoe Island, NC" (A veeery weird place). She found alot of things about the island and it's history. She used Yahoo search. I used yahoo search, and all I got was crap about Robinson Crusoe. I don't understand it at all.

In
late June of 2004 a rancher near Elmendorf, Texas shot and killed a strange creature.
Then in
late October of that same year, in Lufkin, Texas another, similar animal was shot and killed. There were reports, at that time, of another sighting near by.
Last week, or so, yet
another sighting was reported in the same area. This time, there's a video of it.
I live in the area and have been following the story closely. We've gone out there several times in the last few months asking local residents if they've seen anything or noticed anything odd. Aside from some routine livestock maulings which are most likely the work of wild canines of some kind, not much else has been reported until that last sighting that was reported on earlier this month.

The "dried sea-kite" was a new finding in New Mexico. They just now identified it as a dried sea-kite, which is why I'm trying to find out what the hell a sea-kite is. I emailed a marine biology group, right now I'm waiting for them to email me back. Whatever this thing was, it had legs. I don't know of any sea animal that looks like that. It sort of resembles a sting ray, but as far as I know sting-rays don't have legs.
Trust me, I stay on top of the game. I email news channels, news papers, and zoologists all the time. Old cases are just as important as new ones. . .Everyone needs to remember that. Most of the old sightings don't resemble the new "dog-like" sightings of the chupacabra. It's important to notice these differences. The dog-chupa is in the midst of being identified as a new member of the dog family as far as I know. Like I said earlier, the one animal that has been studied has reptilian-like jaws that unhinge like a snakes. But it is definitely a member of the canine family. So far, my discussions with the Curator haven't given me any more than that. It may have been a genetic mutation, but I'm not sure yet. I'll wait til I hear more before I post anything that may not be true. The animal may not be the proverbial chupacabra, but maybe it's something else.

I'm still waiting for a reply. I'm thinking of emailing someone else. Of course, I forgot what email address I used. . .I have an email address for hotmail, one for yahoo, and one from my ISP. Oh well. I'll wait another day or two, then I'll email someone else, but I'll be sure to post the finding on here. As far as I'm concerned, the sea-kite identification is just stupid. Now I just have to wait for confirmation, ha!

I got a reply from the game and fish place and they said they were not commenting on that particular case. The only other decent info I've gotten from anyone was that the only "sea kite" they've ever heard of was a bird. I'm currently reasearching Elmendorf, my dad works there every now and then.

I have a theory that the chupacabra is aquatic and borrows deep into the side of river banks like a platypus and thats the resin why its so hard to find.

Hi Christina
I am not sure if you have seen me touting
This Thread I tend to everytime I see a Chupacubra thread. A UM member called ranchero made the best call I have seen to date with regards to a very likely hypothesis. In fact, I'd say he has nailed the legend down nicely. Read the thread for a couple pages, descriptions cover all occourences very well.
What do you think? Chupucbra became a EM at UM?
