Pictures from my nieces second birthday party have numerous orbs with in them. All of the pics with orbs have only the children in them. They range from one with a really bright yellowish orange one that is in front of my son to smaller light white ones around the other kids.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how you can tell if these orbs in the photos are anything other then spots on them?

They were taken with a digital camera if that makes a difference......
JayMark
Well, we could be of better help if we could see those pics.

Anyways, I'd say there's a 95% possibility that they aren't authentic. Most of the time it's dust or something similar. Digis also very easily catch these dust particles (even if your place is clean).

I have a digi cam and get orbs frequently.

I was figuring that, the only thing that made me think was that they only showup with the kids.....if nothing else it's a very strange coincidence... blush.gif

Yeah well not that much of a coincidence. Young kids are well known to attract dirt and such because they are mainly playing on the ground and very agitated.

It could be friction attracting the dust like everyones been saying or the person taking the snaps could have had their finger over the lens a bit. There has to bo some easy explanation to it all. Unless you have some ghosts which fancy your kids. tongue.gif

I can't figure how having one finger a little over the lense could produce false orbs. A finger over the lens will make a dark spot where it is but not multiple small orbs of diffrent colors...

But yea, dust I'm 99.9999% sure.

Just out of curiosity but how can you be so sure? hmm.gif

Is it not possible? Or in your experience just unlikely that there are ghosts everywhere? I personally have "something" with me most of the time that will turn my radio up and down knocks things over scares my cats things like that. The only thing odd to me about the pictures is that I was not there.

But again how can you be 99.99999% sure that it is dust? what makes you so skeptical with out any other information other then that..... blink.gif

Dust is very common and mistaken for orbs quite often. Also, how many children do you know that sit perfectly still and don't stir up dust?

If you really believe there are spirits in your pictures, that's okay, too. Let's just assume that's what it is. Great! You had some unseen visitors enjoying the child's party. If there are ghosts, who says they can't party, too? I really wouldn't worry about it too much.

The problem with orbs is this: If you capture an "orb" on camera, it can usually be explained. People have duplicated orbs with many different things. Moisture, dust, even bugs. Now, let's say you have a pic that has been looked at and scrutinized and found that the "orb" is genuine. That's fine, but the jury is still out as to whether orbs are spirits or just manifestations of energy (hmmmm, like children). This is why reputable ghost hunters don't claim a place is haunted when the only "evidence" they have is orb pics. thumbsup.gif

Hope that helps

does'nt just have to be dust either, it can be particle of moisture in the air to, and depending how far away they are from the lens and flash also determines why some of them seem to be different colours. I have pictures taken at shows I have been to or played at, and lo and behold, orbs everywhere! Either moisture droplets or all live venues have spirits in em!

Got that, that's fine I guess I was wondering if there are any other basic ways to look for ghosts......

Silly perhaps but it's not bothering me I find if rather interesting the idea that something was perhaps caught on tape. And there are numerous pictures with all the kids in the same spots with an adult in the phone where there is nothing then with the adult moves in or out of the photo that is when there is something there.

I know you gonna say the adult moving stirred up dust....sure probubly but im working with the what-ifs.....

and thats a good thing, without the 'what-ifs' this would all be very dull! I am interested to hear what you find out thumbsup.gif

One thing I found out... Ghosts on pics have always been in human shapes and mist... why change into little orbs all of a sudden? Is the whole mist thing so 20th century? tongue.gif
bacca
perhaps not a ghost exactly but a spirit or aura? just a thought..... grin2.gif
