I couldnt decide to put this is spiritual section or tv section so i put it here, Please excuse me if i chose wrong.

Sunday at 8:00PM Eastern US time on National Geographic Channel there will bve a show called"Explorer" It is searching for Adam and cracking our DNA, analyzing the genetic diversity between Adam and Eve to see if they could create every human on earth!

It looks cool I cant wait to see it

Of course if you read the Bible, you would know that we are all here because of Adam and Eve.
LucidElement
its a possibility, because we had to desend from someone human, so if u believe in the bible and not evolution.. he is for sure the one to look at..

I heard that scientists found out via our DNA that all humans can be traced back to one person. Yet another fact to support creationism

Yes and if you do not read the bible you will know theirs also undismiscible facts and evidence that man existed thousands of years before the bible was made up by early Christians thumbsup.gif dontgetit.gif Maybe all them bones and tools that dated back thousands of years before the invention of Adam and Eve was just Satan trying to trick human kind away from believing in the bible blink.gif rofl.gif wacko.gif

Satan what a deceiving little shithead........ devil.gif disgust.gif To beat Satan’s lies you must throw all common sense out the window and dont question anything, otherwise its burning in hell for you hmm.gif

Well if god made us in "his" image then the image is us thumbsup.gif we mirror god in that case. I actually believe that nature its self mirrors god, not just man.

I believe we all descended from the source, or god if you like, but not from two mythical people that goes against every law of logic and common sense. There where animals and reptiles and bacteria before humans, god created life, and we came from that life, we have become the most intelligent of all, but also the most brutal and dangerous of all, its so typically arrogant of humanity to think that us brutal humans are gods favourites, and that animals and nature are sinful, even though its nature that caused us to evolved into the talking animals you see today. Instead of thanking and respecting nature, we demonise it and destroy it, as being the beast, and source of evil, yet its us humans that consciously do genocide’s and wars and kill for greed. We rape and kill the very thing that gave us all life here in the first place.

God created life, not a few thousands years ago, but billions or years ago, and not just on the earth either in my opinion. Its also arrogant and self-centred of humans to believe that earth is the only body of life in the universe, or that its at the centre of the universe.

This will offend some but its sexist to believe that the creator is a man, its also ignorant and naive to believe that us puny humans know about the nature of the forces that created the eternal universe(s)

Only the human being is stupid enough to believe you can fit all the secrets of the after life and the universe into the pages of a book. I think its far more sensible to have the belief that you will never know everything and that all you can do is learn and discover and do the best you can with what you have, to better understand what seems unknowable, maybe one day we will know the reasons for life and existence ect but until then I believe we should not assume, and not believe that life revolves around us, and its not just religion that does this its science too. We as humans are far to inpatient and want the answers to everything now, we should just take life as it comes and go with the flow.

All the best

Genetically speaking that is a near impossibility, for the simple reason that without genetic diversity (created during the 'crossing over' of chromatids and then 'random assortment' following meiosis) we would not be able to continue as a race. If we are all descended from Adam, then we all share the same genes. Unfortunately this would lead one to conclude that we are all inbred, which in itself is a very unpleasant thought, but also means that EVERYONE would by now suffer from a hideously enormous amount of genetic diseases!

For example, Cystic Fibrosis is a disease that is passed down the germ line when both gametes are carriers for the recessive gene that prevents the CFTR protein being produced in the zygote. Theporetically, if we were all descended from Adam and he was a carrier for this disease (as logic dictates he was if we were all descended from him - mutation can only occur over a prolonged period of time and as I have already stated we would not have survived as a species long enough for such mutations to occur if we all descended from Adam, which really negates this argument, but never mind) anyway, if he was a carrier for the disease his first partner or the inbreeding of his children would have caused the CF gene to be expressed. Eventually there would be so many carriers of the gene interbreeding (due to the recessive quality of the CF allele) that we would see a much higher instance of CF than we do now - in fact probably the entire world would have it after so many generations and interactions within the germ line.

Also, refering now to the irregularity pointed out above. Genetic diseases are caused by inbreeding, as the likelihood of mutations occuring on DNA from similar individuals increases. Therefore, even if Adam had many sexual partners (which the bible suggests he does not) our species would've died out long ago due to the overwhelming amount of genetic irregularities our germ line would've suffered.

The damage to the germ line (sperm and eggs) is easy to demonstrate when one considers that an older man has thousands of divisions of his germ-line in his lifetime and that is why his sperm does not function correctly from about 50 onwards, which can lead to infertility. The germ line has undergone so many divisions that the instance of damage to sections of DNA and mutation that is not selectively favourable, which leads to eggs not being fertilised correctly and mutations within a developing fetus.

Consequently, imo, based on the evidence os gentics I would have to say that it is almost completely impossible that we are all derived directly from Adam.

Well done if you actually managed to reach the bottom of this post happy.gif

Actaully the words "Adam" and "Eve" are old Hebrew words meaning Man and Woman

read the scriptures when it speaks about Adam and Eve, and in your mind replace the words Adam and Eve, with "Man" and "Woman". so there could have been more than 2 humans in the beginning
