I always dream in color. Here are a couple of links I thought you might find interesting. Seems like Djdodo may be on to something with the last sentence in her post.

I would like to say I dream in color, but I don't know if I can actually say that because my dreams aren't really like watching a movie. It's more of an experience, and feeling is the strongest characteristic. This explains why so many things change and don't make sense in one dream sequence, yet still convey the same feelings. I think I can see my dreams, but I think this is because my mind is trying to convince myself I have seen them, when only I have felt them.

I actually remember quite vividly dreaming in black and white and coincidently the dream ran like a silent film from the early 19 century. I was going up around a mountain on spiraling railroad tracks. It shouldve been a freight train, maybe even one of those mine cars, but instead i was sitting on a bench which was travelling very slowly along these train tracks.I felt heavy smog. But i saw the Mcdonald arches, which was probably the only object that reflected the present time. But those werent golden yellow in my dream, the were white.
So yes, i do dream in black and white.

I have always dreamed in color.
The weirdest dream I had though was I was in an all white room and in the dream I decided that I didn't want it to be white so I changed it from yellow to blue back to yellow then covered with purple vines then it changed to a mural of a backyard then I looked at a wall and said I wanted a window there and poof it was, then I decided no I wanted a window seat there as well, and it happened. It is the only time that I was in complete control of my thoughts in a dream.

Most of my dreams are in black and white, and I've been told before that it's quite rare (someone told me that only 1 in 100000 people dream in B&W, but I can't verify that figure). I don't know why I dream in black and white, and I'm not sure I want to know.

Nope, I dream in radiant color. But my older brother finds that strange, because he dreams in B/W… and can’t understand when I try and explain that everyone else dreams in color… (He has hardly any imagination, so this might be the reason?)

Ok I made it a point last night to remember every detail of my dreams. and well it kept me up all night, so needless to say i never fell into a deep sleep. I would dream or REM then wake up.
I dream in non color, color. After some research on the subject i noticed that however weared my dreams are only the important bits are in color maby a whole area or just a jacket or a person that im interacting with. I did notice I had no phisical fealings no pain no pleasure no sence of touch but I could grip and punch as good or better than i do when im awake.

Iv always dreamt in colour, but some dreams i have been expriencing lately, are dreams that, someone is trying to get me,sometimes they are at a window with a gun trying to shoot me,but i also have a gun,but when i move out of my hiding place to shoot the other person, the sun get's my eyes, and i cannot see, then i hear a bang, then darkness.About this time i wake up.This has happened only once this week, but in the past month it has become extremely repettitive.id like to know what this means.A prophetic dream that i am going to die?

i hope not,but i know something is sending it to me because a few times it has interrupted my dreams,i know this because when it cuts in too the man at the window,i wake up.I only seem to remember dreams which i wake up in between,or right as they end.Id really like to know what this is,any suggestions?

Actually thfirstman, I really dont think its a prophecy of death. Whenever you meet another person in your dreams they are just a symbol of a certain aspect of your self. The fact that you are shooting at it tells me that that it is something within your self that your are at conflict with. The sun shining in your eyes shows the difficulty you are having meeting that inner conflict face to face.
I think the figure is your shadow self. Your shadow is basically your darkside . It is everything you are but dare not be. Its all that negative energy and instinctual urges that would normally be unacceptable in our society, but come quite naturaly to humans, that have been repressed. In dreams, the Shadow typically appears as a character of the same sex as the dreamer: a sinister, threatening type in normally nice people, and a nice helpful character in normally nasty people.
So thefirstman. A dark aspect of you that you need to meet. Whatever you figure it out to be, is key to understanding this dream.
" How do we recognize it? In waking life, it becomes visible as an uncharacteristic outburst of some sort - a burst of temper in an otherwise nice person, a ruthless streak in a normally helpful soul, a person who is 'accidentally' late whenever something important is to happen, someone who is quite different when under the influence of alcohol, and so on. When it occurs, the tell-tale sign is that it is as if something has taken over the person for a short time. Of course it hasn't: they are fully conscious of their actions, but they feel very different about them at the time because other aspects of their personality than usual are in control. They are not the same person that they normally are - indeed people often apologize, saying "I wasn't myself - I don't know what came over me." They are not in the normal sense of the word doing these actions 100% deliberately, despite being fully conscious of them." (
good wepage on shadow self))
hope my Jungian intepretation helps.

Moe thank you for the link , my dream nemisis was allways Freddy Krueger so obviously the shadow self isn't allways of the same sex .
Freddy disapeared when I learnt to embrase my arrogance and be proud , so hopefully first man these dreams will help you in not the same manner but a similar one ..

Yes, I could only hear what was going on (no joke). I felt my surroundings to get around, and I was upset because I was blind and didn't know why. It was like all the lights were out.

I dream in color and black and white.
My first black and white dream was an I Love Lucy Episode. The one where she shoves chocolates down her blouse.
After that, I couldn't dream in color for years.
When I was in high school, I met some one doing a paper for college and they were writing a paper about dreams. She told me most people dream in black and white...that it was more common.
I never met anyone else that dreamt in black and white. Of couse, I don't really go around asking.
Anyways my dreams are in colour now. I also have a "nightmare" where everything is black and I can't see anything. Drives me nutters.

Try this for some explanation.
ZyraDreamsWhen i dream, i can't specify the colour of anything because it's the action in the dream that "catches my eye"! But if something coloured is a part of that action, i might remember it or think of it's colour by association, like blood, or anything else.
I usually only pay attention to the action, my dreams are always packed with funny stuff!

I dream in colour, but I also get something which I have spoken to many of my friends about and none of them have experienced it, although to me it doesn't really seem strange, and I'm sure I can't be the only one.
I dream in lots of different, how can I put it, 'styles'.
Like sometimes I dream and it's just like real life 'vision', sometimes it's like a watercolour painting effect, sometimes it's like old grainy film, sometimes it's even like an animated cartoon.
Like I said, I don't think it's anything that odd, just that nobody else I know gets it. Does anyone here?

ok, i didnt read all the posts so i may be repeating something here
i heard that thoughts and dreams are in black and white
but i always see them as colour. but when i started really thinking about it, i realized what i did was got the picture in black and white, and imagined what colours were there type thing, and really i have no idea what im talking about but hey.
so try thinking of something, say, your garden, do you really see it in colour or black and white, but just know what colours are supposed to go where?
or just try thinking of a basic colour, can you actually visualise it??
maybe cos i was thinking so hard i made it black and white :S
ok, i have a headache now, too much thinking
one more thing. do people who have been blind from birth dream? unless you know someone in that position, this is a real headache causer lol.
maybe they dream sounds?

Off topic, but I wonder what owuld happen if a blind person took Acid. I wonder if they would still see the green spangly paisly patterns and the energy sparks you usually see.
Just wondered.
