It seems, that many people on here tend to not trust surveys or polls, since they have never been part of such a survey. This poll will hopefully show,if polls really are trustworthy.
PS.
The "75% of americans believe in the paranormal"-thread in the Main Front Page News section gave me the idea.

How?

How?
Well,there are 3 possible results.
1.Very few actually did participiate in a poll, which more or less shows that polls aren't as accurate as they are supposed to be.
2.At least half of the people who vote in here participiated in a poll, which shows that they are really accurate.
3.If,of the people who have been part of such a survey, the majority votes for 3+ than I think we can see the reason why they are inaccurate.

I don't follow the logic there snake. How does it show polls are inaccurate if the majority has been in 3+ polls, like myself?

Okay well I did one once about cheese spread and got $1 for participating.
I was happy. Free cheese and crackers and a whole dollar bill.
But what do you mean with this thread not all people answer correctly on these surveys or polls. You know they just bs through them for the free cheese and crackers. I didn't but I know others that would.

It shows that such surveys are only performed in certain areas.

no, it doesn't show that at all, since you have not included a specific item or subject to be surveyed on. And of course certain polls and surveys would only be done in targeted areas. For example, I live in a rural area with farms and livestock, but work in NY city. It would prove nothing to poll city folk about what feed they use for their horses, as it would prove nothing to poll the citizens of my town about the construction of a sports stadium in the city.
If you said "have you been polled, or surveyed about (insert item)", then perhaps it might skew the survey.

I love taking surveys; I participate all the time.
