I'd think it was so awesome, but kinda freeze, then back away. Hopefully i'd have something to take pics with me, hmm, i guess i always have a 'camera' with me, cuz my phone takes pics. So that's good if i ever see one.

Okay well I like the Goatman. So I choose him. But the reason I said stay calm is because animals can sense fear. Therefore he would attack if he sensed my fear.
Goatman is awesome. I want to pet him.

Depends on the Cryptid. If its a bigfoot I'd probably freeze and let it make the first move. If it was Nessie and I was watching from shore and stay calm. And if it was Megalodon and I was swimming or on a boat, I'd die.
isis-999
Jun 28 2005, 06:22 PM
That would depend, i guess i would try to be claim so it did not see me, but you never know how you will act until it happens, nessie would not scare me if i was on land but BF would stop my heart, so i really can not say for sure!

The touble, well the attraction I suppose, of cryptids is that they're usually big & scary; so I think keeping quiet and not making any noise is the best option - remember, it's probably more afraid of you than you are of it.

That's what they tell you about snakes, too.....forget that....I'd be frozen with fear...petrified, actually.

Hmm, depends on the cryptid. Bigfoot, depends on what I had with me. If I had a camera, I would prolly take a pic or two, then run like hell. If I had a bat, or a gun, I would prolly chase after him. I wouldn't shoot him or hit him, unless he tried to attack me or something. I don't know. I wouldn't mind getting a chance to see what I would do though....
insecurity
Jun 30 2005, 01:00 PM
Well if it was a threatening cryptid like the chupacarbra I would probably to a combination of things for starters I would freeze in absolute horror for several seconds, at the same time I would probably wee my pants either in fear or as deffence (hoping that the animal was hygenic enough not to attack something that just wet itself), I would then run away screaming and then go back with a large stick and a camera....

I voted other...
My cryptid would be a giant squid or plesiasoar from the ocean.
On land, it would have to be a Thylacine...and, of course, I wouldn't use the later of the following paragraph on this one.
I would try to get pics, or at least some form of physical evidence for verification of it's existance...even if it meant a body...

I know that the species genus is found to exist, and there is proof of this. Several specimen have been cataloged, and exhibited also.
To me, the 'cryptid' Giant Squid, is the 'sea monster' seen in pictures battling Sperm Whales and large boats. We have yet to see this creature at the 'scale' that is described in several tales...hence the reason, I believe that it is considered a cryptid.
To excuse the Giant Squid from being a cryptid, you might as well excuse the Giant Anaconda, Giant Guana, Thunderbirds (animal, not paranormal), etc...
So please explain why you believe that Giant Squids do not belong in the cryptid catagory.
PS - I'm not upset or anything like that, just curious about your reasoning.

hehe, i agree with nessieman23, i would Hug him... hehe... ^ ^
I found some tracks yesterday, they may be of an ABC or just a big overgrown dog.
These are huge. My first thought was excitement then when I noticed one of the tracks was over one of my old shoe prints I started getting a bit nervy.
Whatever it is, it is big and here I am wandering around in the bush with an unknown creature.
Anyway I went home, grabbed Ruby, the camera and a ruler and went back and took photos and measurements.
I felt really excited again when I had verification that I wasn't imagining the tracks.
Anyway the pics have been sent on to someone who knows a bit about cats and if they prove to be an ABC I'll post them up.
Even writing this post know has me feeling like am I setting myself up for ridicule if they turn out to be nothing.

I wouldn't worry about that..You actually went out with a ruler and took a photograph and sent it to an expert rather than just posting "Hey! I found some freaky tracks! I think they belong to a lion!!"
Thoroughness like that should be rewarded, and I doubt you'll find any ridicule here because of that..And if you do, I'll make them hurt..
indeed
