Earlier today on the Welcome Thread Seraphina and Janiel quoted their very first posts on this forum..So that got me thinking if it might not be interesting to see what all of our first posts were. Just to see how we may have changed since then, or just to stir up some UM related memories..
I still remember actually typing mine, and it's hard to believe it was well over a year ago..It was in reply to a thread called "What would you do?"
A thread about what you'd do if your house became haunted..

QUOTE
I'd turn the place into a Bed and Breakfast. People will always pay good money to be scared, even if it's by something that may or may not be real. I'm reminded of the extremely long lines at ever roller-coaster I've ever ridden..

Well, I've gained some polish since then, but I guess I started here just as cynical.. tongue.gif
So what was your first post?

heres the linkThis was my very first post.

Edit; fixed link.

Sheila, your link redirects to mircrosoft.com... =\
Anyway, since I've already posted my first post, I'll post my first good post, and maybe my first thread, since it's basically on the same page.

Okay, scratch the first thread, it's about a screensaver. =\

First good thread of mine: "Would U Live With A Paranormal Being"

I honestly cannot believe I used shorthand like that...

And my first, actually helpful post is...
Here.

alien.gif ? doubtful, I think it may be a man of sickness. Or looking for excitment. Ur classic stalker or serial rapist/killer. probably 20 to 40s white male. Military training or a wannabe military. Probably wouldn't come back though unless its a serial killer with a sexual image of that person. For that person to live out that image is a great deed to himself. But doubtful, less then 1% of the pop. is sociopath. So it was probably just the excitment factor. He will probably never return, but the damage is already done. She will never feel safe again in her home. Fear for her childern and family. One thing can shape your life. But the sneaky part of this is questionable, and the escape... how would he know where to go? did he already scope out the home and plan it. It just doesn't seem random.

Of course there's life out there somewhere.
It's absolutely impossible that there isn't. How far does space reach? To infinity and beyond? Yes. And therefore we can conclude that since the Universe is Infinite, then there is actually an infinite number of planets with life on them. Some far far more advanced than us that our primitive brains couldn't possibly comprehend them.

BurnSides first post! And i still believe that now, along with everything else i ever said in all my first posts, looking back over them.
I have to say, i haven't made a post i'm not proud of.

My first post was in the 'Spiritual vs Skepticism' forum and the topic title was "White Jesus".

QUOTE
God is in all of us, whether we're red, black or white. God really can't be given an accurate description, because God is an entity. As for Jesus, history & the bible pretty much gives the description of how he should have looked - Middle Eastern - a person of color!  innocent.gif
But each race, culture, etc. gives the description of Jesus in their own likeness. By doing this, it gives them the feeling of being closer to Jesus & God.

It could be an F-117 from ahead & below, but the light configuration doesn't look like it, maybe it'd have a landing light in the nose but i don't think it'd have bright white lights on the wingtips. Wingtip lights are usually red (left) and green (right). It doesn't look anything like a B-2, that's for sure, too small and the wrong shape.

QUOTE
Anyway, the billionair thing wasn't the best example...but I do understand the point, and agree with it. I think that, as human beings, free will is by far the greatest driving force behind not just our lives, but the lives of those around us.

To greater or lesser degrees, every single decision and action we take influences the world around us. Choosing to prepair well for an interveiw gets us a job, or choosing to pursue goals gives us a greater chance of succeeding in life.

For those things that we don't directly control ourselves, most of them are still caused, ultimately, by the free will of human beings. War is caused by the decision making of world leaders...their free will. In turn, in most civilised countries, the people used their free will to put such leaders in power as their representatives in world affairs. There's certainly no divine influence directing their hand on a voting slip.

Famine and poverty can, on occassion, be placed down to human error (free will in a sense, as someone must have made a choice somewhere down the line, that turned out to be wrong. From bad farming techniques, to settling on infertile land)...but fighting out of such situations certainly IS down to free will. Again, there's no divine influence in the decision to send aid to third world countries, for example...it's human free will that makes the choice to do so, and it's free will that allows those suffering to work to bring themselves out of such situations, instead of simply giving up.

There is a difference between free will, and affecting the workings of the cosmos...true, we can't decide "you know, I think I'll just toss that life span thing out the window, and live forever". However, we can influence the course our lives take according to the choices we make throughout it.

In our comprehension of the universe and world around us, human beings are god-like when compaired to other organisms on this planet...and because of that, we have the power to choose, for ourselves, what we do with our lives.

That, to me, is free will. And everyone who posts on this forum is demonstrating it by having their own mind, and their own opinions.

That's what I thought back then anyway...then I met people who don't have an opinion that didn't come off a bumper sticker sad.gif but oh well.

"Sometimes, when I am nearly asleep, I will hear a voice, usually male. Most of the time the voice just says "Hello", sometimes the voice says "wake up" or "where are you?". This doesn't happen all the time, or even frequently, but it scares me and I have a hard time falling asleep after it happens. It's happened to me since I was a little girl, and I've lived in several houses, so I don't think it could be a haunting, because people aren't haunted, just places, right? Anyway, I'd appreciate any input, because I'm losing sleep. "

My first post was a new topic I started because I heard (and still hear) voices when I'm sleeping or sleepy.

The major problem with the virus theory is that the sunlight destroying Vampires rumors is pretty much Hollywood stuff. The first time it appeared in vampire stories was in Bram Stoker's "Dracula" (for which he pretty much made up a great many things about vampires that make up the modern day myths). The next time we see it is during the movie "Nosferatu".

The original vampire legends describe a creature more like a ghoul; a corpse eater.

Well, first of all, NOOB here!!!! tongue.gif thumbup.gif clap.gif Well, second, I absolutely believe in God. Come on, when I look at everything around me (not buildings, natural settings), looking at the perfection of the Universe, I think: "This can't be a coincidence, there MUST be something behind this". And so I got to God.
I was also raised in a Catholic family, so I guess that's where it all began. But the real switch on the subject was in September of 2003, where I went on a school trip to Italy (celebrating its 20th aniversary, what a lucky dude I am) and saw the Pope. Believe me, seeing how weak he was and he was still standing there and speaking to the people in 5 different languages and... well, you know what he has done. There definitely was a force supporting him, there are forces that escape the material world. You just have to see him to realise that.
And science has helped on my faith, believe it or not, again seeing how it all fits in God's love plan. Science is NOT opposed to faith, because science answers the "how" on things, while faith explains the "who". Oh!, and I was forgetting everything about exorcisms and Satan.

Well, guess there's only one thing I have left to say.... I LOVE YOU GOD, THANKS FOR EVERYTHING

i define "gods" as a human construct to allow our minds to explain the unknown, and give order and meaning to existance. As such, I have come to the conclusion that "gods" only exist within the minds of men. That is not to say personal belief in said "gods" is good or bad. It is whatever each individual draw from it. Belief can be stronger than anything.

I think all life is interconnected, and know that we know very little of our world (and what lies beyond our perception). Thus it is premature to dismiss the possibilities of other life just because we have no evidence of it. Even if it found one day though, I would not consider it a "god". We create gods in our minds, and we have created life just as we deem "gods" capable of, but by no means are we "gods" to said life unless it were to deem us as such (to which we should claim to be a "parent" but not a "god").

Ok, Falco........ This seems pretty fun, and a good topic... For once.. Ok, just kidding.. Purrrrrrrr wub.gif

Here is my first post under this moniker as I was previously known under another, and erased most of everything I had posted before.. Too bad, everyone says? I know, I know... But, atleast I am consistantly a biotch, as you will see with this post... Enjoy...

Although there have been so many posts and threads that I can just remember being good and juicy, often keeping some of us seething with anger, and ready to sit and refresh our puters for hours on end, just to wait for the reply that we all waited on, wondering if this person or that person would even have a brilliant retort to the things being said to them. some being so ignornant as to create problems then leave with just a bit of rational.... some of us even neglecting work or other commitments because things were just that damn heated. Good times, good times...... I loved all my little 'tiffs', shall I say, since I was, at the very least, very consistant..

OK guys, here's the deal, you want to know what I have been up to for awhile, and you want something new to talk about.. Well here is something that everyone here should find very interesting.
I stumbled upon a site awhile back
http://www.ufo2u.com And I find the lady that runs it very interesting.. She claims to channel and talk to aliens.. She has done several interviews, one with jeff Rense, which we all know goes for content more than truth on his shows.. He would let anyone tell their story, be it true or not.
She runs a message board on Yahoogroups.com, it is called UFO2U. You have to register to leave messages and to ask her questions of her book, or her contact. Well, she has banned me twice.. I just asked simple questions about her, and about her alien friend. She, of course, could offer no solid proof, and if you read the archives, you will find her oddly similar to leaders of any cult group.. I think everyone should read it, and look it up for yourselves.. I have gotten nowhere with her.. She just bans me, or moderates my posts, and doesn't let them through to the group.. There are some nice people on there, but anyone that questions this woman, gets deemed, 'possessed' by demon spirits, which believe it or not, they think I am.. (We all know that really I am just an angel wink2.gif )
In a private email to her, I told her several times, that if she found me tough, that I knew a lot of people that would chew her up and spit her out.. So, let her have it. I know that you guys, MM esp., can be even more brazen than myself.. So, let me know what you think of her.. Do not tell her I sent you there, she will ban you before you push the send button.. You can read her book online for free, which I find to be nothing more than a timeless tale of Good vs. Evil, only with her own names for each...

Have fun..

in my opinion the primary motive for the instigator of war is power and the primary motive of those who fight against them is freedom, or occasionally vice versa. wars are fought over ideals such as communism ('nam), religion (israel and palestine) or just due to the oure evil of some regimes (ww2), money plays an insignificant part, especially for countries already as affluent as the usa or britain

I can answer every question if anyone is still interested. I am a minister in training and have studied this. The dinosaurs died during the flood. That explains why all the fossils are found in large fossil beds, covered by sedementary rock. They all died at the same time during a flood. God created sex and pleasure. He isn't against sex, but you have to be married. You can't defile yourself with lust. Some priests decide to stay away from sex because it makes them like Christ, who never had sex. When I was 10 yrs old my Grandad passed away,I was very close to him.We had been to see him in hospital the Friday night & he seemed fine. That night he appeared in my room(which was strange,he had no transport & by car it would have taken an hour so to walk would have taken ages)
He told me I would wake up @ a certain time, would go into my parents room & someone I knew but not well would be there.
She would tell me my parents had gone to see my Nan.
The real reason they had gone was to tell her that my Grandad had died.He then told me not to worry, that it was ok.
I DID wake @ that time, went into my parents room & it was my uncle's new wife there.she told me to go back to bed my parents were @ my Nan's.
I told her that my Grandad was dead. She went as white as a sheet & asked me why I said that,I told her what had happened.
She made me go to bed.
When my parents got home I had to tell my Dad the whole thing,he said there was no way I could have known.
Problem is,when i was 10 death didnt happen to anyone you know!!
Im still not sure if it was all in my head.
