FLY SPITTA
Jul 3 2005, 02:01 AM
All day I been on the net doing various research about ghost/ufo/crpto. And I am going to post a link of a pic a guy took of his friends armchair(his friend just passed away) and there's suppose to be a ghost in the pic.... All these spirits/ghost pics looks like smoke???? Could all this be a hoax and it really be smoke? Why would he take a pic of a chair anyway maybe he was making a hoax?

I don't know about ghosts but that is one dirty wall.

It does look like a vague outline of a person, I'll give it that..But on the other hand, the whole room looks smoky, so I'd have to say that there's a whole lot of cigarettes down there and they caught the smoke, or there was something wrong with the film..

My question is, what would make someone take a picture of a chair?

Good question,Lila.Maybe it's 4 the kids LOL.That ghost is weird but it could be a hooked smoker taking the picture."OO i'll have a cig while I take a pointless photo of my dead friend's armchair" :)And truth be told, that wall NEEDS a good scrub.

Ick, that place looks nasty! Love the 30 year old chair (reminds me of one I had to sneak to the curb while my husband was at work), the droopy plant and mildewed? walls.
Anyway, a lot of these "ghost pics" are questionable. I tend to think that if the pic is of something that you normally wouldn't take a picture of, then it's probably fake. Especially when the "ghost" is perfectly centered in the pic. Examples:
tree trunks
nondescript overgrown woods
windows of buildings
your computer screen
your printer
the floor/ceiling
light switch
etc, etc.
I've actually seen a picture of a ceiling fan, where the photographer claimed, "the face wasn't there when I took the picture". What? Why were you taking a picture of a ceiling fan in the first place? A little common sense is most times called for.

This is always my question when there's a random picture of a wall or an empty room or something, and the guy who took it says, "I just took a picture, and when it came back from the photo shop, an entity appeared in the photograph."
I tend to give more credence to pictures that are obviously OF SOMETHING, like people smiling and posing, that have an entity in the background (or foreground). I'm very skeptical of pictures taken of random stupid stuff (like a turned-off TV) that magically have a scary ghost in them.

What do you think of this? Probably just steam/mist, but looks quite detailed.

Couldn't this easily photo-shoped? It doesn't look that impressive. I mean yea who would take a picture of a chair? Probably he took more picture about the room. But that was the only pic with mist? Just a thought.

Looking at the leaves on the ground would suggest the onset of fall, a cooler time of year which would lead me to suggest the 'breath caught on film' scenario...
and yeah, the place in the original picture in question looks nasty, would'nt suprise me if the person died from something airborne from that place, ick!

I'm not sure whether the pic is real or fake. On the one hand, it does look like smoke around the chair. But on the other hand, I have seen some pics my brother took of the house we grew up in. They had some smoky-looking stuff in them as well.

I don't see what's wrong with taking a picture of a chair personally. I take photos of entirely random objects all the time... or maybe he wanted to sell it on eBay

That's not a ghost, or smoke!
A few years ago I had a program where I could make pictures precisely like that in a few seconds.
