Jamestown - Jamestown Bridge - On stormy, foggy nights the spirit of a young girl in a prom dress is seen standing under the bridge as you pass it. The girl was killed in a car crash on the way from her prom and is still trying to get a ride home but when picked up she always vanishes before reaching her destination.

The elevator opens and closes and goes up and down for or five times at night. Also the theater has a ghost that was a student but she died when she was rehearsing for a play. Now before opening night of any play she causes allot of mischief with the set, lights, and props. She has caused allot of black outs and such right before opening night.
Linville - Linville Gorge - lights have mysteriously appeared for years... There are two legends associated with these lights, one is they are the spirit of an indian maiden who is in search of her brave that never returned from battle... the other is it is the spirit of a faithful slave who is in search of his master who was accidentally wounded while hunting ....whatever they are, they appear nightly in the gorge, with no set pattern ,they weave in and out of the trees until they reach the edge of the river, then they disappear only to reappear in another spot. They are known as the Brown Mountain lights.
Wilmington - Old Maco Station - the ghost of a conductor named Joe Baldwin is said to haunt the Old Maco Station after getting run over by a train on the night of 1867. Moore was converted into a classroom building because students began to complain of the strange occurrences. Some even refused to live there, saying they would drop out before setting foot on the third floor. Since the conversion, little activity has occurred, although some students have reported still hearing someone walking around and crying.
Camp Lejuene Marine Base -It is said that if you are driving through the back gate of the marine base at night, you will see a woman in white walking along the road. The guards in the guard shack have heard many strange noises. It is believed that the woman was killed in a car accident.

Smithfield-Acid Park The story behind Acid Park is that a young teenage girl was driving one night while she was tripping on acid and wrecked her car and died. People say that her father dreamed about what he thought she was seeing when she wrecked. After that he put up all these reflectors which is supposed to what he saw in his dreams. The car is still there on the dirt road. There are single reflectors placed everywhere which is supposed to be the places the girl was seen after her death.
Jacksonville- New Bridge middle school This school has a basement and it is heard sometimes on stormy days people bagging around in it. Like their trying to get out of the locked doors. Also upstairs the doors uncannily slam shut by them selves.
Brown Mtn.(near Grandfather Mtn.)-Brown Mountain- The Brown Mountain lights appear along the ridge of the mountain, moving erratically. They are best seen from a distance; they disappear as you climb the mountain. No one knows what they are, but the sightings have gone on for so long that the Cherokees who inhabited the area have stories about them.

It is said the ghost of Kissy Sikes haunts the air field looking for her children, she does not like men and the men who yell at kids are in big trouble, there is a story of a young Lcpl on post was found the next morning huddled in a ball in the corner of the guard shack crying she wants her kids, she wants her kids.

Lenoir - Mulberry Home Care After dark a ghost of a little girl comes out and she moves things around and messes with the computers. She'll unlock doors and leave them open. The custodian has taken the light bulb out of the socket several times but somehow the next morning it will be in and on
Morganton - The Deaf School, Clock Tower (Main Building) A hazy figure in the shape of a girl was seen moving slowly across the doorway.
Jacksonville - NC rte. 24 When driving on a flat surface, it feels as though you are going down a step hill. Also heard a specter motorcycle.
Bentonville - Bentonville Battleground Gunfire and shouting can be heard on the battleground and around the trenches at night, and there are countless stories of the plantation house being haunted by those who died there - including a little girl who died of tuberculosis and is said to still haunt one of the upstairs rooms.

The girl was killed in a car crash on the way from her prom and is still trying to get a ride home but when picked up she always vanishes before reaching her destination.

Lenoir - South Caldwell High School - has two ghosts. One is from a guy who was building the elevator and he fell. The elevator goes up and down late at night when the accident happened. The elevator opens and closes and goes up and down for or five times at night. Also the theater has a ghost that was a student but she died when she was rehearsing for a play. Now before opening night of any play she causes allot of mischief with the set, lights, and props. She has caused allot of black outs and such right before opening night.
Linville - Linville Gorge - lights have mysteriously appeared for years... There are two legends associated with these lights, one is they are the spirit of an indian maiden who is in search of her brave that never returned from battle... the other is it is the spirit of a faithful slave who is in search of his master who was accidentally wounded while hunting ....whatever they are, they appear nightly in the gorge, with no set pattern ,they weave in and out of the trees until they reach the edge of the river, then they disappear only to reappear in another spot. They are known as the Brown Mountain lights.
Wilmington - Old Maco Station - the ghost of a conductor named Joe Baldwin is said to haunt the Old Maco Station after getting run over by a train on the night of 1867. People say very time at night a train pulls in Maco Station you can see a figure of a man with a lantern in his hand swing it to make the train stop.

Kings Mountain - Oak Grove - during the time of the revolutionary war a tavern was located at a crossroads' now the intersection of Oak Grove and Stoney Point roads, the legend is that a British soldier carrying stolen plans was in route to warn the British as he stopped at the tavern for a rest he was identified as a Brit and killed by the inn keeper, and on moonlit nights you can see him at the crossroads, he always looks confused, as you try to approach he disappears.
Ocracoke Island - Ocracoke Inlet - near the Pamlico Sound .There is one ghost by the name of Edward Teach, also known as Blackbeard the pirate. The type of activity are usually phantom and ghost light, His demeanor is very violent so proceed with caution when going to the Ocracoke Islands.

Concord - The Old Court House Theater - The theater used to be in the old court house but it was moved to an old church. The ghost there is called the "Deacon" he basically moves things around.

Garner -Right off Timber Drive in Garner, there are the graves of two slaves from the Civil War era. At night when it is storming people have claimed seeing them sitting on their graves with bloody eyes.

The Moore Building is located in the old section of campus. It was the original dormitory for female students studying to become teachers. The third floor is said to be haunted by the spirit of a young woman that committed suicide after her fiancé was killed in W.W.II. Students have reported seeing her form wandering the hall late at night, and are often awakened by the sounds of sobbing. Moore was converted into a classroom building because students began to complain of the strange occurrences. Some even refused to live there, saying they would drop out before setting foot on the third floor. Since the conversion, little activity has occurred, although some students have reported still hearing someone walking around and crying.
Camp Lejuene Marine Base -It is said that if you are driving through the back gate of the marine base at night, you will see a woman in white walking along the road. The guards in the guard shack have heard many strange noises. It is believed that the woman was killed in a car accident.

Midland - Potters Field -Legend states that The Knights of The White Chameleons chased a black kid through this field. He had supposedly raped one of the member’s daughters. The kid was beaten and buried alive. If you go to Potters Field on the day it happened, which is March 8, you can hear muffled screams coming from the ground.

Girl that is all of them take note there are alot of them never us, the last one you listed was the one i could not remember the name of , did you see acid park in wilson, thats a cool place, if i find anymore i will pm you but i think thats it did you go to web sight i told you about,looks like it

What we initially thought was that in the early 1900's, presumably circa 1930's, a young bride named Charlotte commited suicide having lept from the 8th floor balcony after having found her new husband in bed on the 7th floor with one of her bridesmaids.
FGHS went to the Clarion Hotel just to speak with a manager and get a feel for the place, the two ladies we spoke with one happened to be a general manager, informed us that it is indeed haunted by several spirits. Charlotte can be seen on the second floor balcony from inside time to time. She is known to ride the elevator to the 8th floor, only for no one to get off. The elevator does that a lot, goes up and down but no one ever gets off. When there are wedding nights, such as last night, which we didnt get a chance to investigate, the activity is more evident with the elevator.
Before we headed to the hotel, FGHS went to the Library, dug up some research on a few places around the area, what we found out about the Clarion Hotel is far beyond what we had hoped for.
Other than Charlotte, another left behind, lurking spirit is that of a former Chief of Police. As the article suggests, he was shot with his own .45 in his room on the 4th floor. Whether it be self inflicted, or murder is still a mystery to this day. Before he was shot, "which btw, later died in the hospital on August 10th," he called his wife and a few friends to have dinner, when they arrived, they found him dying, in his bed with a bullet wound to the left temple of his head.
Alright now for the information on the hauntings.
The GM told us that numerous staff members will not go to the 4th floor. She also stated that she has heard doors being slammed, a few customers complain about having felt being choked while in bed. Oddly enough, in the room where the Chief of Police was shot in, the air conditioner keeps breaking and no matter what they do, it gets broken. Whether the activity on the 4th floor is that of the chief of police, or charlotte is unknown, but hopefully tonight, we will receive valid evidence to help this staff put the local legend to rest.
---Update-- Tonight is the night, heading there after 11. Stay tuned for major analysis of the investigation tomorrow!

On page 3 of this forum I posted on a pink Ghost/Orb I personally have seen a few times. It is in a graveyard in Goldsboro. It was witnessed by about 30 people the night it was first seen. Whether they took a camera or video recordings, I have no idea. I wasn't there that night. There was even someone born and raised in Goldsboro that never heard of it. Email me and I'll give you a few names of those that have seen it.
This is just a spelling correction of "Morpheus Bridge", if you try and find it with that spelling on Mapquest or anywhere else you won't be able too. It is actually spelled "Morphes" and these are the directions: Take Wendell Blvd (64 Business) going toward Zebulon. After passing Main Street (blinking light), continue to traffic light and make a right, Selma Road/231, drive about 2 /3 miles to Lions Club Road, and there will be a sign to St Eugene Catholic Church on left, continue on Lions Club Road and it T s at Morphes Bridge.
Acid Park is not in Smithfield, it's in Wilson. It's a popular "rural legend" in eastern NC and a lot of ECU students make the trip to go see it during their college days.
It is really a magnificant sight to see. The best time to go is on a night when the moon is concealed after the leaves have come off the trees. That way you have a good view and the moon doesnt diminish the effect of your head lights hitting the thousands of reflectors. It is true that there is a little car on the dirt driveway leading up to the man's house. The car is very small, I forget what kind it is.
The myth is that the man's daughter was on her way home from prom night with her boyfriend who was drunk or tripping on acid and wrecked the car in the driveway, it caught fire and they were both killed. Her father went insane and built an amusement park in the trees with the reflectors because when she was little she loved going to fairs and carnivals to ride the rides and such.
Again, it's truly a magnificant site to see and well worth the trip.
Unfortunately though, it's all hogwash. I have a close friend who was studying in the art program at ECU, a real hippie type who had made many trips (in more ways than one) out to see Acid Park. He finally got curious enough to actually go knock on the man's door and ask him. The man is just an artist who used his trees and old broken reflectors he found on the highway as his medium to create his art. No dead daughter, and he said the car had been there for ages, long enough for trees to grow up around it.
There is however a story about the Pactolus Lights which is near Greenville NC. I've never seen them myself, but my wife has. I wanted her to show me but she swore she would never go back after what happened to her when she went to see it. A quick google search for Pactolus Lights will give you the story.
Her story is this: She went with a group of three of her friends and turned down the path where the railroad tracks were in their car. They cut off the car and then flashed their headlights three times and waited. The waited about five minutes and nothing happened. Just as they were about to leave, a dim light appeared way down the tracks and started approaching them .. slowly at first but then sped up. They started freaking and tried to leave, but the car wouldnt start. All of a sudden the light zoomed towards them and actually entered the car and filled it with a bright white light. They were all screaming, pissing their pants with fear. Then the light went out, all was still and the car started with no problems.
True or not, I dont know .. I wasnt there. But to this day she swears by the story and when we were dating, I begged her to take me out there but she absolutely refused. She also said she was overcome with a bad feeling, as if it was a very angry, evil presence in the car.
Now I believe that the spot is on private property and the owners dont take kindly to visitors.

There is however a story about the Pactolus Lights which is near Greenville NC. I've never seen them myself, but my wife has. I wanted her to show me but she swore she would never go back after what happened to her when she went to see it. A quick google search for Pactolus Lights will give you the story.
Her story is this: She went with a group of three of her friends and turned down the path where the railroad tracks were in their car. They cut off the car and then flashed their headlights three times and waited. The waited about five minutes and nothing happened. Just as they were about to leave, a dim light appeared way down the tracks and started approaching them .. slowly at first but then sped up. They started freaking and tried to leave, but the car wouldnt start. All of a sudden the light zoomed towards them and actually entered the car and filled it with a bright white light. They were all screaming, pissing their pants with fear. Then the light went out, all was still and the car started with no problems.
True or not, I dont know .. I wasnt there. But to this day she swears by the story and when we were dating, I begged her to take me out there but she absolutely refused. She also said she was overcome with a bad feeling, as if it was a very angry, evil presence in the car.
Now I believe that the spot is on private property and the owners dont take kindly to visitors.

She was said to have fallen from one of the windows and died.
If you mean F. Scott Fitzgerald, his wife died in a fire in a mental institution. I'm not sure how his mistress died, though.
Just wanted to note something about Helens Bridge in Asheville. I work 3rd shift on property that connects right next to the bridge for the past 3 years and can honestly say I have never seen anything that would pass for a ghost at all. I have to actually walk the property at night and the only thing that scares me is the people that try to drive under and up to the bridge, lol. It's funny, I decided to do some research on the matter and discovered that the woman didn't actually hang herself from that bridge at all. She actually died in another state all together. Just one of those urban legends I guess. But take it from me the only thing that is scary up there is peoples wild imagination and driving skills.
