German and American scientists are undertaking this endeavor and hope to have it completed soon. Should be an interesting event. -New York Times article.

You don't need to map neanderthal's genomes just....look in the mirror. NO that wasn't a personal attack tongue.gif just that Neanderthals are only 100% Homo Sapiens suffering from a bad case of Rickets and similar bone disease (in fact, most Neanderthal bones are suspiciously broken to bits). Another false chain in the evolutionary doctrine.

A neanderthal is no different then us, they just did not know as much about the world around them and could not utilize the resources as effeciently as we can today. Infact, modern humans are said to be less smart because of the way we are breeding. (I believe there is a thread here about that)

Well we wipped them out. Neanderthals are not the ansesters of humans, they are an offshoot that was killed off when Humans migrated to Europe.

So i wonder what genes they will find that differ from us.
