well.. now that i think of it we'll probably nuke it, then the fallout will destroy all humans, not to mention the ity bity asteroids made from blowing the big one up

I am not a fan of the armaggedon theory.it could happen but i think we will cause it if it does, man kind wants to live,we want to move foreword, but we are also very dangerous, we do not always no when to stop! there fore we end up hurting ourselves

I think humanity (and pretty much all life forms) will end due to the Earth being victim of the greenhouse effect. Eventually I think the Earth will end up like Venus.

Humans wont die but evolve. We will spread out into space before humans on earth can be infected or totally destroyed.

Eventually there will be no humans as we will evolve into something else in our post human future.

A disease war between humans will break out

I don't agree. I beleive the Steven Hawking theory; and in my eyes humans could never survive the dispansion of the universe. We will last long, but the simplest of cycles will nab us in the end.

There will be a day in the not to distant future when you piss off a toaster it will come back and kill you. Toasters are becoming way to advanced for the average human being, and will one day kill us all. I trust their will one day be more supporters of the Deadly Toaster theory. Then again it might not be just toasters but all technology itself. Well thats my opinion.

The thing is, gravity is needed to keep a human functioning normally. We can't just float in space forever. Our only option (as of now and probably for a very long time) would be Mars. We would have to terraform this planet, and that would take several hundreds of years. Even so, some human error would probably screw something up and it wouldn't last that long. Earth is the only place for humans. Unless, however, we find some other planet that is basically identical to this one....

Some of us will engineer ourselves to be able to work in space and on other planets more efficiently. and I am not talking about humans thats why I included the word "evolve" (with the use of advanced technology that we are developing today).

Maybe you should try to look at the bigger picture and think of ways in how we will make use of technology to help us move into space.

If you dont evolve and adapt you will die. The Humans that embrace technological enhancement and move into these environments will thrive in it because of their ability to live in many extreme envirionments through the use of many enhacements.

So you may be right in a way - Humans are doomed because of their limitations and thats why post humans ( humans that have augmented themselves with technology ) will survive

i think all the religions are going to get really pissed at each other and all out war will brake out. Countries will take sides with religions and then if anyone actually wins that the religions will problay end up fighting all the different sects of their religions like catholics fighting protestints and then theyll probaly nuke each other, but i doubt man kind will ever die out we always seem to find some way to survive by hiding or becoming stronger an if their is a nuclear war evolution will eventually save us from all the radiation an such.

In about 10 years, when there is 20bil. people on the earth, everyone will fart at the same time one day. And then some idiot will light a match. and POOF! we will all go up in flames.

There will not be an end to humanity , just an evolution into a greater being.............

There's more politics in this question, than science. Nature and its phenomena are not to be ignored, but until we learn to live (or prosper) without screwing someone in the process, we are our biggest liability. Water and Oil will have not yet played their part, as factors of worldwide instability, and could lead us into war. I think we moving into a scenario where big corporations will deal the cards, and a small group of people will hold all the power and riches, at the expense of millions of "nobodies" - the price of a human life is on a low again, as never seen before since the Dark Ages. What will happen next, not even i have a clue: it will be always like that, or there could be an uprising. Either way this will slow down our exploration of space, and our capability of escaping Earth in case the planet is in danger. So, i think we will be here for a very long time, perhaps 300 years or more, until the planet is destroyed or some economical interest is discovered in space exploration. One thing is for sure: the way things are going, we will hardly outlive the planet.

Most likely our old dream will come true- humans will spread into space while watching our planet being destroyed by ourselves.

We are advancing in technology every day, therefore it's only a matter of time before we adapt the universe.

Well, I think this is a higher probability than blowing ourselves up. But, even then, i don't think all human life will perish.

Your soon thing actually scares me. There's belief that about 7 asteroids will hit at different locations but in a straight line from France to Israel next year in 2006 and that what produced those asteroids will bring another bigger one in 2012 (Mayan calender anyone?) that will hit land and start a new Ice Age. Scary, but possible.
