I had the 6 oclock propa...I mean news on the day of the London bombings. And just like clockwork, on comes a designated terrorism 'expert', local University Professor of Foreign Terrorists or whatever.

The news guy asks him "Are we vulnerable to terorist atacks in________ (fill in your home town)?"

Prof. Dork eagerly pipes up "Oh, yes, we really have no way to prevent the ABC Building , or the XYZ Bridge, or the 123 Stadium from being bombed by Terrorists!" (news graciously shows archive footage of exact areas mentioned!).

no.gif Now, this muttonhead was the top story on the News Whore, I mean News Hour!

It was the same as 9/11 - even Gov't and military officials, blurting out how every building taller than 30 stories, football stadiums, water supplies, were all TARGETS!!!
Then they explain how key they would be in crippling the entire city! Then they describe that they "have no effective way to protect the waterfront facing of the Sears Empire Tower"

The military humps and college eggheads just keep spouting off a literal "Places to Bomb For Tourists Handbook".

Grounds for charges of treason, and cranking up the paranoia level to 9.5 among Joe Public America! All in one interview! thumbsup.gif
Mr Ed
There is a massively high risk of being attacked anywhere.
Paranoid Android
I've always thought this myself. It sort of reminds me of a news release conducted by the American government during the early days of the hunt for Osama bin Laden.

The "expert" said that there were three possibilities they were looking into about bin Laden: he was either [a] hiding in Iraq. [b] hiding in another country. Or [c] he was dead.

I wonder how many tax dollars it took to come up with this hypothesis, hmmm,

All the best,

Sorry, I don't have a link - I haven't searched for one, but I read this in the newspaper shortly after 9/11.

now this is a statement i wouldnt take likely as it is a known fact that silverstein(and im quoting this next phrase) and a "shadowy group of investors" purchased the sears tower soon after 9/11

Oh, yes. This was quite plastered all over the local news stations here. I live in what you would call a small city; twin cities actually. About five years ago there was an attempted bombing of our courthouse so of course, that was brought up.

John Q Expert gets on tv telling all of us concerned citizens what to look for and how to prevent further attacks. Rubbish all of it.

HELLO, what are these folks thinking,Just go ahead and let them know what we do not have protected,Some people just do not think, here's a thought for all the conspiracies nuts out there. True enough sun - I just ''made up'' a combined building, but I know the actual Sears Tower was mentioned many times as connected and a potential ''next target'' for the fear mongers

What possibly could news jerks and their 'experts' be thinking when they foment fear and paranoia among regular, everyday working people? It must be what they want to do, or are trying to do at least!!

It's meant as a joke because all you can do is really just laugh at these butheads!!

Openmind you mentioned the Anthrax attacks as a terrorist attack. Why did the anthrax only go to democratic senators and a journalist who exposed the Bush twins drinking under age. What kind of terrorist would pick such targets? A right wing variety maybe. Pretty nice of terrorists to help Bush like that eh? Plus the strain came from US Armys Ft Deitrick. Bioweapons. Hmmm...the terrorists must have stolen it from the Us Army w/boxcutters and immediately mailed it out to those evil ant-war democrats and that pesky journalist. Yeah...makes since to anybody...if your sleepwalking.

Osama votes Republican from his ''Cave of Evil'' ballot booth - come on spycat, you know that!! laugh.gif
