[nzherald] - A New Zealander working for Reuters in London says two colleagues witnessed the unconfirmed shooting by police of two apparent suicide bombers outside the HSBC tower at Canary Wharf in London.
The New Zealander, who did not want to be named, said the killing of the two men wearing bombs happened at 10.30am on Thursday (London time). Following the shooting, the 8000 workers in the 44-storey tower were told to stay away from windows and remain in the building for at least six hours, the New Zealand man said.
He was not prepared to give the names of his two English colleagues, who he said witnessed the shooting from a building across the road from the tower. Reports of attacks carried out by suicide bombers have been rife in London.
Canada's Globe and Mail newspaper reported an unconfirmed incident of police shooting a bomber outside the HSBC tower. Canadian Brendan Spinks, who works on the 18th floor of the tower, said he saw a "massive rush of policemen" outside the building after London was rocked by the bombings.

I haven't heard anything else either but the story seems to come from Reuters, although not directly, it does make one wonder..."what did happen?".

The Police Commisioner was asked about a report of a marksman shooting someone he said there were no reported incidents.

Just think how many operations there are going on in the UK and USA that the citizens don't know about but they stop attacks.
If there were cops that shot two bombers... why would it matter? They were doing their job. Would you have rather had them go and blow up the building instead?

Dont be absurd.

Don't be absurd? He brings up a completely valid point!
Some of you people are so intent on finding some secret-societal-government-spawned-alien-hybrid ridiculous claim that you look past the obvious.

I agree Kratos had a very valid point, however if our boys had shot 2 Bombers, there would be a massive enquiry to justify the shooting, civil rights vilolations and all these silly groups would need full justification on the shooting and unless they were armed or posing a definate public threat our poor Police guys would be the ones that would take the rap.

This was also reported by callers to a London radio show.
London 94.9 has a morning show 9 till 12 hosted by John Gaunt, its a phone in show where members of the public call in and talk about London issues, usually imigration, politics and the general state of the country.Im sure the splendor us getting the Olympics was probably on the agenda but instead we had a nasty surprise that morning.
On the 7th the show only featured callers who were involved in the choas, traffic info and people basically trying to figure out what was happening.
At 10.20ish many callers phoned, emailed and texted to say the've just seen 2 men being shot and killed by Police at Canary Wharf? Who knows?

Just some musings of mine, although i must stress i do not believe any of these they are just ideas to be discussed.
-maybe they shot innocent men and the police covered it up
-maybe there was a reason these killings would've caused panic and hysteria,e.g. they were carrying anthrax samples
-maybe the men were taken down but not killed and are currently being interrogated?
just some random ideas

They found the four people that did it and and 90% sure they are all dead, 100% for the bus guy.
I am pretty sure of this.

I think it's pretty fishy that the U.S. is overseeing the British investigation into what happened.
Especially since the first day it happened, I heard a news report linking the London bombings to the Madrid bombing, which was supposedly perpetrated by the U.S.
But we're all little people with zero clearance, so until the people who experienced this firsthand get media attention, we'll not know for sure.

Why do we always go around in circles like this?
Has anyone stopped to think that the only thing that matters is that over 50 people are dead, hundreds physically injured and untold others are mentally scarred for life?
Whatever the numbers are, those British police are heroes for keeping those numbers from possibly being higher.

Very well put, but sadly in this section of UM people tend to look for another theory rather than the obvious and they tend to ignore reality.

I wonder about this myself. Good point.
