I'm having a problem with my computer. It keeps restarting every few minutes after giving me a message like this:

"Windows must restart now. Remote Procedure Call service terminated enexpectedly." or "C:/Windows/system32/Isess.exe terminated enexpectedly"

But before I get either those I get one of those "error" message from Microsoft which states "LSA Shell(Export Version) encountered a problem and needed to close"

Never dealt witht this type of problem so can anyone please help in anyway?

Thanks to everyone in advance thumbsup.gif

Hmmm...sounds like you might have the "blaster worm?"

What version of windows are you using?
arben
XP.

I ran AVG and it found IRC/Backdoor.SdBot.185.AE and it healed it, but it hasn't found anything else.

I also ran Housecall which found nothing so is there anything else I can run to try and fix it?
Magikman
HERE ya go, arben.

There's a patch available in the 'would you like to know more' link.
arben
I download the patch Magikman but it still gives me the messages stated above and starts counting down from 60 to 0 and it turns off. hmm.gif

I try to go the the file directly in the Win32 folder but can't find it there...

Sorry about that arben, I'll send an IM to bleeding_heart and ask him to take a look at your problem. He's a highly competent computer wiz, hopefully he'll log onto the forum in the next day or two, he tends to only appear as time allows, so I'm not sure when he will see it.

It may not be a virus but follow the instructions here;

http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcen...moval.tool.html

this should at the very least stop the 60 seconds countdown and restart.

Also follow the steps here

http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcen...moval.tool.html and let me know how this goes.

Hoagy
you should do what I did last weekend. Pick up the keyboard, violently smash it to bits, pull the guts outta the tower then set fire to it.

Its amazingly theraputic.

That computer had it comin, I swear....

well, hopefully that'll cheer you up till you get you problem solved. thumbsup.gif
